Spring Email Greetings

Greetings Swim Family,

Happy 2025!

Thank you all for such an amazing Swim Season last year! We were blessed to able to have a multi-session season for the second year in a row!

Twenty-one years ago in 2004, Sunny Days Swim School opened to help our community “Come and Learn to Love to Swim!”TM Over the last two+ decades, more than 1500 students have completed our American Red Cross (ARC) Learn to Swim Classes, ARC Lifeguard Certification/Recertification Courses, and ARC CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Courses. We have trained ARC WSIs and Lifeguards to care for our clients in an atmosphere conducive to learning, in a safe and loving environment. We look forward to continuing that tradition. We have now expanded Sunny Days Swim School into Louisiana, with ARC Lifeguard Certification/Recertification Courses, and ARC CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Courses being taught by ARC LGI Onyadeeka Bailey!

We, at Sunny Days Swim School, are grateful to have had students continue onto:

- Swim teams,

- Water polo teams,

- Aquatic certifications,

- Military service,

- Collegiate sports, and

- Even serve in the US Secret Service!

With reference to military service, last year I reported my commissioning into the US Navy Reserve Duty Chaplain Corps. Praise Jesus! I was blessed to complete the five-week US Navy Officer Development School in Newport, RI and graduate with flying colors! As the Lord wills, I have had the opportunity to meet and counsel many of my fellow Navy Servicepersons during my first year, both at the NRC Orlando, and my mobilization unit in Norfolk, VA, imparting swim skill instruction / insights, as well for some.

My exciting news this year, as well as the reason why our 2025 Swim Season has been delayed and will only be one session – I have successfully defended my Doctor of Ministry dissertation and will be graduating from Southern Methodist University Perkins School of Theology, Saturday, May 17, 2025! My dissertation title is The Theology of Water and Spirit: A Radical Reclamation to Forge a Path from Fear to Faith. I would like to encourage anyone reading this letter to stay true to God’s Divine design for your dreams and remain open to opportunities that life has to offer, despite what age and/or stage of life in which you find yourself. Life is truly an adventure!

2025 Swim Season

Lord willing, weather, and pool temperature dependent, there will only be one swim session this season (The blackout dates will be: July 3-4th, and July 16-23rd due to the Fourth of July holiday and my Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Spring 1985 Line 40th Anniversary celebration):

May 28th – July 25th
Our hours of operation are as follows:
Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-12:40PM,
Monday-Thursday, 3:00-7:00PM

Our website has been refurbished! Please feel free to register with your $25 deposit (which goes towards your lesson set total), at www.SunnyDaysSwimSchool.com. PayPal is connected to the shopping cart to complete payment for the deposit.

With the new Swim Schedule feature, you will be able to schedule your swim lessons from the website. Please use our conventional scheduling parameters to maintain consistency. For instance, with schedules we have previously utilized:

MWF @ 10:00-10:20AM
TTh @ 4:20-4:40PM
MTTh @ 8:00-8:20AM
MTWTh @ 5:00-5:20PM
Schedule your chosen ten or twenty lessons on those days and times until the schedule is complete. Once your swim schedule has been set, those times will no longer appear as available on the schedule.

Swim Lessons fees remain the same for this year, with the exception of the 3% fee associated with using credit card usage (Please contact me regarding Group Lesson fees):
