*New mayor, continued partnership, more tennis ahead.*

Mayor Nick Nesta campaigned earlier this year on open communication and building community partnerships, and within his first couple weeks in office, he met with our Tennis Galaxy leaders to talk about growing tennis opportunities in Apopka and supporting public health through physical activity.

We appreciate that Mayor Nesta also values physical health in his own life, stays active with his family and supports programs in the City of Apopka Government to help improve both physical and mental health. That connection matters when we talk about making recreation more accessible for families across .

We’re grateful for the continued communication, the strong relationship with the City, and the shared commitment to helping more people get moving.

Tennis balls may lose their bounce for class, but they can still have plenty of life left in them.

Tennis Galaxy recently donated about 1,500 used tennis balls to GROW Healthy Kids, a Sanford-based nonprofit helping kids stay active through regular physical activity.

The balls will be added to free recess kits for local elementary school teachers, giving them a second serve in the hands of students.

“We’re glad these balls will keep moving, support young people, and avoid going to waste,” said Coach Peter Fazekas, Tennis Galaxy’s Founder and Director of Coaching.

Reminder for Tennis Galaxy families: juniors’ classes are on break this week and next week and will resume with the next cycle beginning Monday, July 6.

Only private lessons and specialty classes are being held during the break. Families interested in extra training before the next cycle can ask their coach about available options.

Enrollment for the July cycle is open now. Please register soon so your player’s spot is reserved, and reach out if you need help confirming the right class level.
