About a year and a half ago, Tiff and I started coming up with a plan to focus more on our family and me potentially doing something else for work. Since then, I’ve been testing with and have been recruited by a number of different city, state, county and federal agencies, and have 3-4 options to choose from. I’m not sure which I’m committing to yet, but I’m definitely committing to one of them. A lot has happened really fast, and we’ve decided that July will be Armor’s final operational month running classes. Timing wise it all just checks out. August is year 15 and is also the end of our 5-year lease at our current location, so it’s opportune timing, so to speak. The gym is running great, this is a truly intentional decision to put our family first and we feel this is the best route.

This is not a decision we’ve made lightly, and I’m by no means burned out or anything. I absolutely love and have loved every second of all of this. But it’s consuming, and my family has had to take a back seat to Armor for 15 years, so it’s just time to focus on us now.

This is one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever had to make, and there really isn’t a good time or good way to do it, but it’s gotta be done. It’s just time. It’s been one of the single most humbling, rewarding, and exciting experiences of our lives and we’re so grateful for the Armor fam and the Central FL CrossFit community.

July 26th we are hosting our Grande Finale with a workout free to all Armor athletes, past and present, with heats starting at 8:15 and a huge potluck to follow.
