Mustang Family,

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Coach Max Purcell, who passed peacefully at 6:20 this evening following a brief illness.

Coach Purcell had a long and distinguished coaching career in football and track & field, including time coaching at his alma mater, , and most recently here at Wekiva Mustangs Football. He has also made an indelible impact as an educator and mentor to countless students and coaches.

During this difficult time, please keep his wife, son, and the entire Purcell family in your thoughts and prayers.

We will share further information regarding arrangements and opportunities to honor Max's memory as those details become available.

Please welcome new Wekiva Mustangs Football head coach Ashton Watts to our Mustang family! Coach Watts comes to us from Horizon High School where he has been an assistant athletic director and disciplinary dean as well as an assistant coach for football and baseball for the past five years. His prior coaching experience includes six years coaching baseball and football at Ocoee and a year coaching football at West Orange. Coach Watts graduated from Ocoee High School in 2009 and from Marietta College in 2013 where he was an offensive linesman. He describes himself as a man of God, a husband, and a father of three beautiful children.

Tonight: Wekiva Mustangs Football hosts for Week 5! Tickets are $10 on (or check out our annual pass options) or $9 cash at the gate. Parking is $5 cash or GoFan (plus fee). All spectators will be screened. Only medical and infant bags are permitted. No reentry. The live stream will be *exclusively* on YouTube.com/WekivaSports and NFHS Network. Any other live stream you see advertised is a SCAM. Posts or comments advertising fake live streams will be reported and deleted and the offending account blocked/banned.
