As we prepare for a new season, we say farewell to two longtime service members of our cherished League. Outgoing President John Paul Bergh has served 14years, 3 of them as President. While he watched and coached his 3 sons, he has spent countless hours and often his own money upgrading the field and facilities, building and renovating major infrastructure projects, and always held our League to the highest of standards. Sarah Newhouse-Gaukel, mother of 2 ballers, has 12 years of volunteering under her belt. Serving as board member safety manager, and secretary, for a total of 7 years. It’s a bittersweet thing to see them go but we are so grateful for the strong foundation they built.
We welcome in new President Marco Cabrales, who has learned under the past two Presidents about carrying on the winning legacy. We are excited for our League’s future with so many volunteers willing to step up for our kids.

We couldn’t let National Coaches Day go by without shouting out some of the best there is — our volunteer coaches! Often taking on more roles as well in Aptos Little League, they do it with a smile, a constant word of encouragement, always showing up even if they’re running in, hair on fire from work or whatever other life responsibility they have.
For every high five, low five, back pat, “atta baby.”
For every bucket talk, post game talk, shin bruise, chalk stain.
For being there when we come off the field, take the field, round first, round third headed for home.
For every motivational speech that lands, and every one you’ve had to repeat more times than you can count.
We see you, and we thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. 🫶🏼
Another great season is almost upon us, be on the lookout for more details coming soon!!

We got something new up our sleeve for Fall Ball this season! If your kid isn’t doing anything else in the Fall, or is, but still wants a relaxed, game-only, baseball experience, Fall Ball with us is the place to be. And this season will be playing ones inter-league games with our neighbors Pajaro Valley Little League, even some under the lights at their fields! 🤩. Register before August 14th with the link in our bio. All the details live in that link too!

Whew! What a whirlwind the last week has been! The Section 5 Tournament went the distance, ending in true nail biting fashion with a walk-off single to center in the bottom of the 7th, AFTER a homer to tie and a homer robbing catch at the wall to keep it tied! As sad as we are that Aptos wasn’t either of the teams in Championship action, we couldn’t have asked for two better competitors than Los Altos Little League and Los Gatos Little League.
⚾️
With only a week to plan, get volunteers, dial in fields and more for this tournament, our Aptos LL family answered the call time and time again! From 12s All-Stars players and families, boardmembers, League families with no skin in the game, everyone stepped up in some way to make it a success. Our teen volunteers getting hours filled in the snack shack were nothing short of amazing. Not one phone was out, they were engaging and polite, took initiative, and were a joy to be around!
⚾️
Thank you to our community partners like California Giant Berry Farms Aptos St. BBQ Tortilla Shack and alumni, Mariners, so many long time community people coming to check out the action over the last several days, especially to cheer on our Aptos All-Stars.

The smallest of the District 39 leagues, we’ve always been tiny but mighty, with our excellence on and off the field. The legacy continues! 👏🏼🙏🏼🫶🏼

We’re baaaaaaaaaaack!! Due to unexpected circumstances that played out in the 12s All-Stars District tournaments, we were honored to answer the last minute request to host the Section 5 Tournament!
NEXT WEEK — we graciously welcome all 5 teams across the Section, and ask for all our Aptos LL family support to put on a successful tournament in a very short amount of time! We appreciate all the support in advance for a community who always answers the call for our kids! 👏🏼

There’s nothing like the World’s Shortest Parade! Aptos Little League showed up and showed out at the Aptos Chamber of Commerce 4th of July Parade! The All-Stars teams represented our baseball family well with beautiful floats and proud cheering kids — even parents at times! And the crowd reciprocated with all the love ❤️🤍💙 We love this community. Remember Fall Ball registration is now open! Link in the bio.
