2026 MINOCQUA MARATHON RUN ON THE BEARSKIN TRAIL

The Marathon, Half-Marathon, and 5K will take place on the Bearskin Trail on Sunday, September 6. The races will be out and back, starting and finishing at the Bearskin Park in downtown Minocqua. The marathon welcomes those who aspire to run their first marathon, as well as veteran runners trying to improve their times or qualify for the Boston Marathon. All participants will receive a race medal & t-shirt, finish line refreshments, and encouragement from the many spectators.

ON PACE RACE will again be on the course to set the pace for runners’ skill and ability level for the marathon and half marathon.
Awards for the Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K will be given for Overall Male and Female 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places and will be awarded when the winners cross the finish line. There are no age group awards for this event; however, all participants receive a finishing medal.
Registration and packet pickup will be on Saturday, Sept 5 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and Sunday, Sept 6 from 5:00 am to 7:45 am at the American Legion downtown Minocqua.
This year’s event beneficiaries will be Cub Scout Pack 564 and theTrinity Lutheran School. We invite you to contribute to our fundraising efforts on behalf of these NON-PROFITS.

The NO FRILLS marathon in Minocqua WI will be henceforth known as the Minocqua Marathon. The race started 20 years ago because a local runner wanted a fast course to help him qualify for the Boston Marathon and the event was indeed NO FRILLS. However, it is now the opposite of that. Music, ONPACE pacers, 13 water stations, snacks, refreshments (including Wisconsin Only Spotted Cow Beer).

I just wanted to share a story with everyone. This is one of the reasons I continue to host marathon events! Rick Wilson, Race Director

Good evening, Rick. Just wanted to reach out and thank you again for allowing Maggie to run with me. Perfect morning for it, we had such a good time. I tried to carry enough water for us both so I could avoid the water stations. (Not everybody loves dogs!) Ran out towards the end, the volunteers you had working were so nice, they let me grab a cup of water for her. Start to finish, it was a great race. Maggie getting a medal made my day!
