What it means to dance and move with In Balance Movement & Dance Arts Center:
---
Experience positive mental coaching as we move, as our bodies were meant to do!
Move with us for contemplative and anatomically informed safe and effective strengthening, integrating technical skill building and inviting introspection and self-awareness.
Let's all be "in balance" and regenerate our bodies!
We move to:
• Let our breath move our bodies
• Break down borders and barriers
• Heal, find stability, harmony, balance
• Build community
• Be energized
• Find the artist inside us

Dance Class Descriptions
---
In all classes, attention is placed on the development of basic skills, energy, strength, control, breath, alignment, continuity and connectivity, expression, and rhythmic and bodily awareness. As the classes are intergenerational, each student will be challenged individually.
---
The Ballet classes approach the codified technique with somatic practices in mind for safe, individually-minded movement efficiency and enjoyment.
The Modern Dance classes explore a variety of movement principles, improvisational techniques, and expressive components that challenge both our internal experience and the external forms that we aspire to connect with.
The Safe Practices classes are a fusion of, and inspired from, body wisdom techniques from yoga, Pilates, Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Bartenieff Fundamentals, and dance to facilitate a comprehensive fitness that connects the body-mind. The aim to gain flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular endurance is reached with biomechanical safety and efficiency at the core.
