Saddened to share that the Dodgers have announced the passing of Nancy Bea Hefley.

I went to a bit of a ballgame this afternoon after doing a basketball broadcast, and started ruminating on hurt again.

But this! One of my favorite moments ever, not just from that chapter but of all time. Ed Alstrom and I playing Sunday service together. A guy I’d looked up to from afar for years already. Not 100%, but this might be the only time two MLB organists collaborated in a worship service, especially in the middle of a rival series. Talk about transcendent!

I'm sharing that we are officially beginning a search for a small-medium grand piano for St. Andrews Breckenridge. While we are blessed to have our beautiful and more than adequately provisioned Ross King pipe organ, the church does not have a performance grade piano. Besides our lack of ability to enjoy the great piano literature for worship voluntaries, we would love the ability to begin hosting local piano studio recitals and chamber music concerts. Please send any leads direct to me for consideration - I stress this is for a primary performance piano in our nave. There is a surplus in our organ maintenance savings and the probably of some patronage within the parish, but we are also open to donations or loans of a good estate piano. It would of course be well maintained and used.
