Route 2 Baseball is owned and operated by Chris Aufiero and Marc Antetomaso. Our primary goal is to help players meet their full baseball potential.

We offer individual and small group lessons, clinics, camps, and College Prospect teams for high school players. We do not offer club based teams for ages 13 and younger, as one of our core values is to support town youth baseball programs. We want to work with town programs, rather than compete against them. We offer numerous options to town specific leagues such as player and coaching clinics, c

Footwork, Mobility & Kinematic Sequencing

The back foot does more than just push—it sets the tone for body direction, rotation, and how well you sequence (hip-shoulder separation). That’s a big deal for timing, control, and velocity.

Ankle Dorsiflexion Matters
Limited ankle mobility = poor heel connection + stride issues. This often creates “quad-dominant” throwers—fine for some, but a problem for others. It can mess with pelvic stability and rotation. Focusing on the adductors can improve drive leg efficiency and unlock better movement patterns.

Losing Heel Connection
When the heel comes off too early, weight shifts to the toes. That can cause rotation to break down and force the body to redirect energy inefficiently. Some guys can compensate. Others? Not so much. For them, rewiring lower-half mechanics is key to unlocking better sequencing.

Why Sequencing Is Everything
Clean hip-to-shoulder separation allows for efficient force transfer. Poor sequencing pulls the arm into early trunk rotation, increasing stress and injury risk.

Bottom Line:
Start from the ground up. Clean foot mechanics and drive leg function fuel velocity, command, and durability.
