I’m hosting a donation-based Outdoor Bootcamp to help Ukrainian families in need. Date: Monday, March 28th @6:15pm in Arlington. I’m originally from Belarus and I am deeply disturbed by horrible events transpiring in Ukraine. All the donations from this Bootcamp will go to them.

It took hard work to get here and win competition . Not to mention that just a couple of months ago I was in a boot with a high grade ankle sprain unable to even walk. I told myself that I will come out on the other side stronger than I’ve ever been and I did. But I didn’t do it alone. Thank you to amazing people who helped me along the way - cheered me on, encouraged me, mentored me, and supported me every single day. Together we won!

Dance and movement as a whole is a reflection and an outlet for our feelings and how we process things that are happening to us and around us. As I’m preparing my choreo for competition tomorrow, I’m thinking of people of my homeland countries Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia, who are seeking for strength, courage, comfort and peace. We will dance in their honor tomorrow.

Baby it’s cold outside❄️ Put your winter gear on and take your workout outdoors! Here is why it’s good for you:
1. You burn more calories.
Research shows daily exposure to cold increases a body’s volume of brown adipose tissue, or brown fat. “Unlike white fat, browning fat tissue would be an excellent defense against obesity. It would result in the body burning extra calories rather than converting them into additional fat tissue," said Philip A. Kern, who authored the study.
2. You get a boost of vitamin D and combat SAD.
The shorter days of winter and lower temperatures can contribute not only to vitamin D deficiencies, but also to developing seasonal affective disorder. Even if it’s just going for a walk, go get your sunlight!
3. You strengthen your cardiovascular system.
According to a study by the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, outdoor exercise could decrease your risk of dying from cardiovascular disease by up to 27%. Exercising in cold weather challenges your body further and can help strengthen a healthy heart.
