Hello Mackerels!

What a great morning at Chase Club! You all swam so well and we, coaches, are proud of your efforts! Keeping with our season trend, 5 team records were broken: Mac Marsh lowered his team records in the 8 & under Free(16.35), Breast (22.24) and Fly (17.02); Nicolas Reeves lowered his team record in the 15-18 Backstroke (30.59); and Lucy Khlopin broke a 34 year old record in the 13-14 Breaststroke (40.86)!

Tomorrow is the annual team banquet at 5:00PM in the Banquet Hall! It promises to be a fun night of memories and recognizing the everyone's great swimming! After the buffet dinner, awards will be given. Following awards will be the season slideshow--we've been hard at work collecting photos from all our volunteers and it promises to be a great event...so stick around to watch.

After the banquet, the team traditionally goes to Upton Hills for mini-golf. We have secured the group rate of $3.50 a golfer and hope you all will join us on the course to chat and reminisce.

Now for the announcement many have been waiting for...I have received official word from the league about all-stars....we have 14 swimmers who have made all stars and 7 alternates (noted below) for total of 21 in the top 20 of the league! Dear Holy Mackerels,

It seems hard to believe we are nearing the end of the season, but it’s true.

I wanted to take a moment to remind you that the work requirements deadline is next week (July 20, 2013). There are several families who have not signed up for, or completed, your requirements to date.

Please review the Family Work Requirements and Guidelines (found on the Holy Mackerels web page). The key information to note is on page two of that document:

Those families who have not signed up for their required number of points by Saturday, July 20, 2013 will forfeit your children’s swim privileges until and unless the situation is rectified. Hence, the families who do not fulfill your obligations will forfeit your child(ren)’s swim privileges for the Holy Mackerel Invitational (last developmental meet) and/or the Divisional meet, and will lose their returning family status for the 2014 season.

All points must be either earned or signed-up by July 20, 2013. The good news is there are many jobs still available.

For your convenience, the Holy Mackerels website is found via this link: http://www.kofcedw2473.org/swim_team/index.html. From the home page, see the “Volunteer Sign Up” section on the left column. Click through for the links to remaining opportunities.

To see the point tracker, use your login to access the protected menu, then click 'point tracker'. Family names highlighted in blue have 5 or more points. NOTE: Coordinator points have been credited even if your event has not been completed. All other credits will be given after the event/meet has taken place. If you believe that there is an error in your family's points, please contact Alison Butler so she can fix it. Send an email to: [email protected]

We appreciate everyone pitching in and working so well together.

(Pray for sunny skies as we enter into Holy Mackerels Week.)

Go Holy Mackerels!
