For years, I did what many runners do on easy runs…
I kept checking my pace.
Today, I tried something different.
✅ I hid my pace completely.
✅ I ran to a cadence track.
✅ I watched only my heart rate.
Something unexpected happened around mile 9 that completely changed how I think about Zone 2 training.
The biggest surprise wasn’t what happened to my pace.
It was how much easier the run felt mentally.
