This Wednesday, July 22, 2026, more than 1,200 YMCAs in all 50 states will host a campfire--real or symbolic--bringing people together in a shared moment of connection, reflection, and belonging.

From outdoor summer camps with warm bonfires to gym floors glowing with faux flames, this is about more than a campfire. It's about what happens around it.

We take time to recognize this important moment in our nation's history and celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Black Americans that continue to strengthen our communities and enrich our shared experience.
