Happy birthday to former Ranger Mitch Moreland!

Moreland played seven seasons as a core first baseman for the Texas Rangers from 2010 to 2016, helping anchor the franchise during its most successful era. Drafted by Texas in the 17th round of the 2007 MLB Draft, he quickly rose to the majors, making his debut on July 29, 2010.

Moreland was a key contributor during the Rangers' back-to-back American League pennant runs in 2010 and 2011.

He was also known for his stellar defense at first base, he won an American League Gold Glove Award with the Rangers in 2016.

Across 773 games in a Texas uniform, Moreland batted .254 with 110 home runs and 354 RBIs.
