Did you know there's a connection between the Classic & THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson?

Former Cotton Bowl Athletic Association Chair & Salesmanship Club of Dallas President Felix R. McKnight and Byron Nelson were close friends. It was McKnight who asked Nelson for permission to name the PGA TOUR event in his honor. The Classic's Defensive MVP trophy is named in McKnight's honor.
