Hey, folks! Just three more weeks to the 15th running of our "little race in the woods," the American To***co Trail 10-Miler (and 4-miler)! This race is a "for runners, by runners" event organized by the North Carolina Roadrunners Club and proceeds from the race benefit the Triangle Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, the organization that built and maintains the American To***co Trail. This year, it's also the RRCA North Carolina Southern Region 10-Mile championship! Register before Tuesday and get the best looking race shirt of the season! Mindful of the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to hold our Level I Coaching Certification courses in an interactive, online classroom environment and will do so for the foreseeable future. These team-taught courses will take place using the Zoom platform.

** Host a Course!!!

While we sincerely hope to be able to offer in-person courses again in 2022, plans may change as dictated by evolving state and federal guidelines regarding travel and gathering size, and the availability of suitable facilities. We will communicate any changes via email and our website as needed.

Historically the RRCA has worked with official representatives from member running clubs, events, running stores, and corporate clients to host in-person Level I Coaching Certification courses. All courses are financially self-supporting (meaning there is no cost to you), and the RRCA handles all elements of the registration process including refunds for attendee cancellations. We also provide a participant stipend, paid to the host organization, to assist with food and beverage costs. The RRCA has a waiting list procedure for sold-out courses to ensure full participation at each course, and each course host will receive one complimentary entry for their course to use at their discretion.

Due to the pandemic we are working with virtual hosts to help promote our online Level I courses within their local running communities. No logistical planning is required, other than working with the RRCA to decide on the course dates.

RRCA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS RETURN!

The RRCA Championship Event Series will officially restart on April 1. That means that any event designated as an RRCA Championship after that date can officially promote itself as such, hand out medals, and will have access to the bib and Gatorade sponsorships.

Any Championship Event that canceled in 2020 has the same spot in 2021 provided the event completes a new application form for this year. Again, that application can be found here

63rd RRCA National Convention : April 15-18, 2021 : Orlando, Florida: GO TO: https://www.rrca.org/convention

The Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) is optimistically planning for an in-person convention for April 15-18, 2021 in Orlando, Florida. We are committed to protecting the health and safety of our attendees, RRCA staff, board members, and venue staff throughout the planning and event hosting process.

Over the coming months we will be monitoring the status of the COVID-19 pandemic and will remain in regular communication with the team at Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort to ensure we can produce a safe, in-person function that meets the guidelines for group gatherings in the event’s jurisdiction.

During the registration process, you will be asked to agree to the Personal Accountability and Responsibility Commitments in addition to the waiver of participation. RRCA Convention attendees agree to abide by and engage in certain safe and healthy conduct while attending the event. This includes, but is not limited to, submitting to daily temperature checks, wearing a mask at all times in public areas, engaging in appropriate physical distancing, and not attending the event if you are ill or have been recently exposed to COVID-19. If you are not willing or are uncomfortable agreeing to these commitments, we kindly ask that you wait until next year and register for the 2022 convention (which will also be in Orlando).

We will be offering registration refunds if an attendee withdraws from the event before April 12. After April 12, if you are feeling sick or have been exposed, STAY HOME. We will credit your registration to 2022 if you can’t attend due to illness/exposure that emerges after April 12. If we are forced to cancel due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will provide refunds for registered attendees.
