Weight loss is a goal for a lot of people, and medications like GLP-1s have become a major part of that conversation.

But as Dr. Clearfield explains, the number on the scale isn’t the whole story.

Emerging research and clinical observations have raised concerns about potential side effects that can include loss of muscle mass, reductions in bone density, and loss of connective tissue along with body fat. While these medications can be helpful for some individuals, it’s important to understand both the benefits and the tradeoffs.

Your health journey deserves more than a quick fix. It deserves a plan that helps you build a stronger, more resilient body for the future.

Ever notice that some people at Momentum are training barefoot, in socks, or wearing toe shoes?

It’s not a trend. It’s a reminder that your feet are the foundation of every step, squat, lunge, and lift you do.

Your body works as a connected system—often called the kinetic chain. When your feet can move, feel, and function the way they were designed to, it can influence everything upstream, from your ankles and knees to your hips and posture.

The more you understand how your body works, the more control you have over how it performs—not just in the gym, but in everyday life.

Stem cells are everywhere right now.

Social media makes them sound like a miracle cure for everything from joint pain to aging to chronic disease.

But Dr. Clearfield explains there’s an important side of the conversation most people never hear:
Not all stem cell treatments are the same.

Some are backed by real science and careful medical oversight… and some are risky, poorly regulated, and overhyped.

That’s why education matters.

He shares that they’ve seen incredible success with the right therapies, in the right situations, with the right protocols. People improving mobility, recovering function, reducing pain, and getting parts of their life back they thought were gone.

But the goal should never be chasing hype.

It should be understanding your body, asking better questions, and making informed decisions about your health.
There’s no shortcut that replaces movement, recovery, nutrition, and proper medical guidance. Real health is built intentionally.

Ever walk into a room and forget why you’re there?
Struggle to focus on a simple task without reaching for your phone?
Feel mentally exhausted even when you haven’t really done much?

Brain fog is becoming normal in America… but it shouldn’t be.
We’re constantly feeding our brains cheap dopamine—endless scrolling, constant notifications, short-form content, junk food, and stimulation every second of the day. Meanwhile, our minds and bodies are becoming less challenged, less active, and less resilient.

Your brain is like a muscle.
If you never train it, stress it, move it, or fuel it properly… it slows down.

The good news?
You have more control than you think.

Better sleep. Daily movement. Sunlight. Real food. Challenging your mind. Conversations. Exercise that pushes your body and your brain.

Small habits repeated consistently can completely change how you think, feel, and perform.

Most people have been taught to believe aging means slowing down.

Less strength. Less energy. Less mobility. Less life.
But what if that isn’t actually true?

Dr. Clearfield believes age is not the limitation people think it is. He’s seen firsthand what can happen when someone finally gives their body the right environment to heal, adapt, and grow stronger.

One of the most inspiring examples?
A 65-year-old woman who started bodybuilding.

Not only did she become stronger physically, but her energy, confidence, mobility, and overall health dramatically improved. Instead of accepting decline as “normal aging,” she challenged her body — and it responded.

Your body is always adapting to the lifestyle you give it.
Movement matters. Strength matters. Your brain, metabolism, hormones, and longevity are all connected to how you care for yourself every day.

No matter your age, your body is capable of more than you think.

You do not know what you do not know.

when people first walk into Momentum and we asked them to take off their shoes, they are often surprised. Some are confused. Some concerned. Somewhere they will hurt their feet, contract, athletes foot, or drop weight on their toes.

Those are reasonable concerns. But they are also the very reason we educate before we load.

At Momentum, we believe you must first learn how to move well without shoes, without heavy weights, and without artificial support. Barefoot training, allows your feet to communicate with the ground, your body, and your brain in a way traditional shoes often prevent.

because Momentum is a private facility with controlled traffic, we are able to maintain a much cleaner training environment than a typical public gym. And once people begin training, barefoot, they usually become more aware, more intentional, and more connected to every step, every lift, and every movement.

For those who are not yet comfortable training, completely barefoot, there are excellent transition options: a Vibram style shoe, a Pelova style shoe, or a minimalist zero drop shoe as a last resort.

The goal is simple: remove as much interference as possible between the foot and the floor. This matters because the foot begins the kinetic chain. If your feet lack strength, mobility, flexibility, pliability, and elastic, the rest of the body will eventually compensate. More importantly, weak or restricted feet limit the feedback your brain receives from the ground.

Look at dancers. Look at gymnasts. Look at martial artist. Look at yoga practitioners. They are not building elite movement through thick, cushion shoes. They are connected to the ground. Strong feet create strong connections. That connection travels up through the ankles, knees, hips, spine, and shoulders. It builds a more responsive, more athletic body.

So perhaps you’re not ready to lift heavyweights barefoot. That is fine. Start with bodyweight movements. Squat, lunge, hinge, balance, crawl, and move without shoes. Begin by listening to the feedback from your feet. Your body will thank you and your athleticism will improve.

Chase used to see fitness through the lens of bodybuilding — chasing aesthetics, size, and how he looked in the mirror.

But over time, his perspective changed.

After seeing people reverse Type 2 diabetes, regain strength they thought was gone forever, and even help restore mobility after doctors told them they may never walk again… fitness became about something much bigger. Fro Momentum it became about preventative healthcare.

Because movement can change more than your appearance.

It can change your future.

When exercise is paired with cognitive training, accountability, and a plan built specifically for the individual, people are capable of far more than they’ve been led to believe.

The question is whether your daily habits are moving you toward disease… or away from it.

Our friend Dr. Le Santha knows what it feels like to do everything “right” and still feel like professionals aren’t really helping.

She became frustrated with a healthcare system that often reacts to symptoms instead of helping people build lasting health. That frustration became a mission: finding a better way to help people take control of their lives before things spiral further.

Because real health isn’t just about prescriptions or quick fixes.
It’s about understanding your body, building habits that actually last, and having people in your corner who care about the whole person.
