🏀🏐🏓 A Friendly but Important Reminder

Unfortunately, we are already seeing some issues with patrons using the basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts not getting along.

We understand that everyone wants an opportunity to use the courts, and we want that too! We have designated times for each sport to help give everyone a fair chance to enjoy the facility. Please keep in mind that these schedules may change over time due to programs, events, and overall facility usage.

Right now, we are still in a trial period. We are learning what works, what doesn’t, and how we can best accommodate as many people as possible.

But one thing is not negotiable: we must treat one another with respect.

Teenagers. Adults. Everyone.

Please be respectful of other patrons, staff, scheduled court times, and the facility itself. There is room for different sports and different age groups to enjoy this space, but it only works if we are willing to cooperate, communicate, and show each other respect.

We want this to be a facility our entire community can enjoy. Please help us make that happens. 🧡

As a new facility, we are continuing to learn, adjust, and work through a few hiccups along the way. Our goal is always to make decisions that are best for our members and, most importantly, the safety of the children who walk through our doors.

Recently, we have had an increase in children being dropped off at the facility without adult supervision. Because of this, we have made some changes regarding the ages at which children may be in the facility without a parent or guardian present.

Please know these decisions were not made lightly. Our facility is large, with many different areas that children can access, and without proper supervision, there are opportunities for accidents or injuries to occur. These changes are not meant to inconvenience families; they are being made because we genuinely want to protect and look out for the children of Artesia.

We also want to remind parents that Child Watch is available for children ages 6 months - 12 years. Parents and guardians are welcome to utilize Child Watch while they work out, giving you peace of mind knowing your children are being supervised and cared for.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and grace as we continue to grow into this new facility and determine what works best for our community. Our priority will always be creating a safe, welcoming environment for everyone. 💙

Artesia, THANK YOU for coming out to celebrate the Grand Opening of our new Recreation Center! 🎉

We loved seeing so many of you walk through the doors, explore the facility, ask questions, and experience everything the new Recreation Center has to offer.

As we move forward, we ask for your patience, understanding, and grace as we all adjust to this new experience. This facility is new for our staff, and it’s new for our community too. There will be questions, there will be things we learn along the way, and there may be a few growing pains, and that’s okay!

Our staff is working hard every day to learn, adjust, and make improvements so we can provide the best experience possible for our community. We also know that building something great takes time, communication, and teamwork.

We’re all learning this together, and we need to work together to make this facility the best it can be. We appreciate your patience as we find what works, make adjustments when needed, and continue to grow.

This is just the beginning, and we are so excited for the memories, opportunities, and happiness this Recreation Center will bring to Artesia for years to come. 💙
