Dear MNC Farm clients,
We’re writing to let you know about an upcoming adjustment to our boarding and lesson rates, effective June 1st, 2026.
Over the past 6 months, the cost of hay, feed, utilities, and general care has increased significantly. To continue providing the level of care, safety, and instruction that your horses—and you as riders—deserve, we will be updating our pricing.
New rates effective June 1st, 2026:
• Boarding: Pasture: $425 per month (previously $375) Stall: $525 per month (previously $475)
• Lessons: $100 per hour lesson and $80 per half hour lesson (previously $85 and $65) (there will still be a $10 discount on lessons that don't use school, horses)
This was not a decision we made lightly. Our priority has always been the health and happiness of the horses, along with maintaining a safe, supportive environment for our riders. These changes help us continue that commitment.
We truly value having you as part of our barn family and appreciate your understanding and support. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for trusting us with your horses and your riding journey.
Best Regards,
Marie Stephenson and Nicholas Colson

We are officially lifting our EHV quarentine. Horses are allowed on and off the property per usual. Thanks to all our clients for aticing it out and helping keep th horses safe!
Hello! We hope everyone is having a safe and happy holiday season. After consulting with our veternarian, we have decided to partially lift the quarantine for EHV.
We are allowing people to trail ride again. We ask that everyone stays mindful and practices good biosecurity (don’t let horses touch noses don’t share water buckets with others etc).
We are asking everyone to refrain from attending equine events (barrel races gymkhanas shows etc) for the time being. We are still NOT allowing any outside horses to come on to the property at this time.
As always feel free to reach out with any questions.

Good morning everyone,
We are touching base about the current EHV outbreak in Texas. While there have been no confirmed cases in Colorado yet, there were horses from the state in attendance of events that had exposure. We have decided out of an abundance of caution, to quarantine our facility and not allow horses off the property at this time. This includes trail riding. We know this is inconvenient and the risk is minimal, but it is not zero.
I will include some general information below as well as a few links with more info. As always feel free to reach out with any questions.
EHV symptoms in horses can range from mild respiratory signs to severe neurological disease and abortion. Common symptoms include fever, nasal discharge, lethargy, and coughing, while the neurologic form (EHM) presents with incoordination, hind limb weakness, and an inability to urinate. Pregnant mares may experience late-term abortions.
Respiratory
• Fever (often biphasic)
• Nasal discharge (clear and colorless)
• Swollen lymph nodes, particularly under the jaw
• Depression or lethargy
• Coughing
• Loss of appetite
Neurologic (Equine Herpesvirus Myeloencephalopathy - EHM)
• Fever
• Weakness and incoordination
• Difficulty urinating or urine dribbling
• Lethargy
• Loss of tail tone
• Hind limb paralysis or inability to stand
• Loss of sensation in the hind limbs and tail.
What to do
• If you suspect your horse to be ill or acting “off” please notify Nic or Marie immediately
• Contact a veterinarian immediately if you suspect EHV, especially if neurologic symptoms appear.
• You can take temperatures daily as well. At this time we do not deem this as necessary since we haven’t had any horses travel out of state or off property and be directly exposed to the outbreak.
This post is not intended to create panic, merely educate people about the outbreak and disease itself. Our risk is extremely low, we are just taking measures out of an abundance of caution.

Equine Herpesvirus 1 & 4 – AAEP Equine herpesviruses are very common DNA viruses in horse populations worldwide. The two most significant are EHV-1, which causes respiratory disease, abortion, and neurologic disease; and EHV-4, which primarily causes respiratory disease and only occasionally causes abortion or neurologic disease.....
