We also manage the use of the Indiana Equestrian Center through City of Arvada. Preserving our western heritage for future generations.

The Arvada Area Horsemen’s Association represents equine enthusiasts in their mutual concern for trails, planned development, and conditions that facilitate equine activities. We work under the auspices of the City of Arvada administrating the maintenance, improvements, and use of the Indiana Equestrian Center, which is open for riding 365 days a year, dawn to dusk.

Hello! This is Kirstin Chapman from the Arvada Kestrel Project.

Good news! The American Kestrel pair that nests in the nest box at the Equestrian Center is back again this year and has started laying eggs in their nest box. They have two so far and usually lay a clutch of 5.

As soon as all the young hatch, in approximately a month, the parents will be bringing in ~20 mice and voles/day, along with small snakes, lizards, spiders and grasshoppers! I will send you updates periodically, but wanted you to know that the kestrels have chosen to nest in the beautiful Indiana Equestrian Center open space again this year!

Mountain Rail Open House in the West Metro 04/27/2026

Good morning.

We’d like to share details about the upcoming Mountain Rail Open House in Arvada.

Thursday, April 30, 2026
5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Arvada High School
7951 W. 65th Ave.
Arvada, CO 80004

As part of the Mountain Rail Project, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) invites community members to attend an open house regarding the site selection of a West Metro station.

The open house will provide community members and stakeholders a chance to learn about the project’s progress and share perspectives that will help the planning team evaluate and select a preferred West Metro Station location. Input from the public will support ongoing efforts to understand concerns and community considerations related to the potential station locations.

Through a series of guided activities, participants can share feedback on potential station locations, preferences, and key considerations to support evaluation and selection of a preferred West Metro Station location.

A survey will also be available at the event and online for those unable to attend in person. Project leaders will share updates on anticipated timelines and next steps, and CDOT will continue to offer both in-person and virtual opportunities for community engagement and feedback.

We hope to see you there!
