A better sn**ch starts before the bar ever leaves the floor.
The sn**ch deadlift is your chance to rehearse the exact bar path you want in the full lift:
🔒 Lock in your hook grip
💪 Keep the shoulders active and pull the bar into your body
⬆️ Push the knees back, then raise the chest once the bar clears them
🎯 Finish tall—squeezing the glutes and quads—so the bar travels up, not out
Five intentional reps now can make the full lift feel a whole lot better later.
Save this for your next sn**ch day!

Think about the last hard workout.
Before your body quit...
What did your mind say?
"I can't."
"This is too heavy."
"I'm not good enough."
"I've never been good at pull-ups."
Every athlete has an internal conversation.
That conversation matters.
At Ralston Creek, we're beginning to coach that conversation just like we coach movement.
Because stronger language creates stronger actions.
And stronger actions create stronger lives.
That's what mindset training is.
Not positive thinking.
Practical thinking.

🚨 BIG NEWS.
For the past ten years, we’ve been committed to helping people become stronger, healthier, and more capable.
Today, we’re taking that mission even further.
We’re proud to announce that Ralston Creek CrossFit is officially an Enlifted Mindset Gym.
What does that mean?
It means we’re expanding what coaching looks like.
Because fitness isn’t just physical.
The way we speak to ourselves...
The stories we believe...
The standards we hold...
The way we respond to adversity...
Those things determine far more than what happens during a workout.
They shape who we become.
Over the coming months you’ll begin seeing mindset woven naturally into classes, coach development, and a brand-new member experience we’re incredibly excited to launch.
Practical coaching that helps you become more aware of your thoughts, your language, and your actions so you can perform better—not just inside the gym, but everywhere life takes you.
We’re honored to be one of the first CrossFit affiliates bringing this work to our community.
Welcome to the next evolution of Ralston Creek CrossFit.

All-guy class energy. 😂
Talking about shape and size, roasting each other, discussing shoes, reminiscing about 80s candy… and occasionally doing CrossFit.
Just the boys, egged on by Coach Jeremy. What could go wrong? 💀
Turns out it’s really hard to be explosive when you’re folded in half. 😂
Coach Jeremy’s highly scientific experiment of the day:
Bend over. Touch your toes. Keep your chest down.
Now JUMP.
…yeah. Ridiculous. 🤣
But that’s exactly the point.
In the clean deadlift, if your hips shoot up and your chest stays down, you’ve put yourself in a terrible position to create upward power.
Once the bar clears the knees:
⬆️ CHEST UP
⬆️ CHEST UP
⬆️ CHEST UP
Then squeeze the butt and quads, shrug up and back, and finish that extension.
And the sound effects are non-negotiable. 😂
Sometimes the best coaching cue is the one that makes you feel a little ridiculous—but makes the movement finally click.
Are you catching the bar and then riding it down into a squat? That's one of the biggest things holding people back in the clean.
The goal is to finish your extension, then move your body under the bar as quickly as possible so you receive it in the squat, rather than catching high and squatting afterward.
A few coaching cues from our L4 Coach Jeremy Strawn:
✔️ Finish your extension.
✔️ Get your elbows through fast.
✔️ Meet the bar in the bottom—not on the way down.
✔️ Stay tall in the front rack. Eyes and elbows up.
Master the timing, and heavier cleans start to feel a whole lot smoother.
This is why people keep coming back.
Yes, we love getting stronger.
But it’s the friendships, the laughter, and the little moments in between that make this place feel like home. ❤️
(Turns out a little swing dancing is pretty good active recovery. 💃)

Nothing beats watching hard work pay off.
Max missed his first handstand walk attempt... reset, took Coach Jeremy's cues, and came back with an awesome walk on his second try. 👏
These are the moments we love to see—and even better when we catch them on camera.
Congrats, Max! On to the next milestone. 🤸♂️💪

This summer heat is getting out of hand... 🔥
The heat is unavoidable. Dehydration isn't.
💧 Drink at least 2/3 of your bodyweight (in ounces) of water each day.
🥗 Keep your nutrition dialed in. Recovery starts long before your next workout.
Stay cool, stay fueled, and we'll see you in class (don't worry, the gym was not harmed in the making of this photo).
