The Garden State Horse Show, originally presented by the Junior Essex Troop, is New Jersey's premier horse Show held at The Ridge at Riverview in Asbury, NJ. Started in 1951 by the Junior Essex Troop, this A-Rated five day horse show is home to the Ted Grant Welcome Stake Grand Prix, and the Garden State Grand Prix. The show offers classes for all levels of Equitation, Hunters, and Jumpers, with Hunter Classics, Hunter Derbies, and Jumper Derbies, including the A Garden State Jr/AO Hunter Classic and the USHJA National Garden State Hunter Derby. In 2011, for its 60th Anniversary, the Garden State Horse Show expanded to include the Garden State Preview Show, a two-day event held the weekend prior to the Garden State Horse Show. The Garden State Preview is April 30 - May 1st 2022
