The team and NFL has not enforced their trademark in the past six years.

The Washington Commanders are once again selling official merchandise featuring the franchise’s retired Redskins name and former logo, but the team says it does not signal a name change.

“We are required to maintain the marks in commercial usage so that marks remain under franchise control,” the organization said, explaining that the merchandise helps preserve its historical trademark rights.

Among the merchandise, the Commanders are selling Art Monk, Darrell Green and Sean Taylor T-shirts with the retired Redskins name and logos.
