You don’t need to eat like an Olympic athlete, but quality nutrition matters. Here are the some simple, effective tips I give my clients:
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! Aim for 10-20oz of water at least 15-20 minutes before training.
Prioritize easy-to-digest foods post-workout. Think protein shakes, yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, and fruit (citrus is a winner! 🍊).
Consistency is key. Training + smart fueling = long-term success.
Nutrition is personal—some people prefer to eat before training, others don’t. Either way, focus on getting quality nutrition daily and staying consistent with training. The small habits add up!

After 25 years in this field, I’ve learned a few things that stand the test of time. Here are my biggest takeaways:
1️⃣ You’re closer than you think to real results. Most people are about eight weeks away from noticeable strength gains, fat loss, and better habits. The key is consistency, not perfection.
2️⃣ Strength training is the foundation of longevity. It improves muscle mass, bone density, joint health, and overall resilience. If you want to stay active and independent as you age, lifting weights is essential.
3️⃣ Recovery tools are helpful, but the basics matter more. Cold plunges, saunas, and massage can enhance your routine, but they won’t fix poor sleep, high stress, or a lack of movement. Prioritize sleep, balanced nutrition, and strength training first.
