Happy Motherโ€™s Day from the Chesapeake & Potomac Softball League ๐Ÿ’๐ŸฅŽ

Today, as we hit the fields, we celebrate all of the amazing mothers who support, inspire, and strengthen our softball community every single day. From cheering in the stands to being players, coaches, mentors, and role models, today is for you!

We also take a moment to honor and remember the mothers we have lost. Their love, strength, and memories continue to live on in our hearts and throughout this league.

Honoring the life of Randall โ€œRandyโ€ Sutton

Please join us for a Celebration of Life Service this Thursday, April 30th, at Camp Springs Community Church (8040 Woodyard Road, Clinton, MD).

Viewing begins at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM.

We look forward to honoring a beloved friend together.

Randy joined the CAPS league in 1997, starting his softball playing career with Whitman Walker. In 1998, Randy played with Omega, and his team placed 3rd at the MAGIC Tournament that year. Randyโ€™s first GSWS adventure came in 1999 with the HRS - Home Boyz, where he earned the legendary nickname Peaches, by which he is well-known across NAGAAA.

He subsequently participated in 10 more GSWS, including winning the 2005 B Division title with the Disturbance. He also played in numerous other NAGAAA member city tournaments, winning the Liberty Bell Classic (Philadelphia) in 2010 and the Windy City Classic (Chicago) in 2011.

Randy has often been selected by his teammates to serve as a team captain, and was a six-time recipient of team MVP awards among the 10 teams on which he played.

Randy has also been a team player off the field throughout his tenure in CAPS by participating in event planning and fundraising activities.

Randy also played on Dr. Alโ€™s Rebels, Envy, and played his final decade on the DMV Legends. He was the star starting pitcher for the DMV Legends in which he led the team to numerous division titles. Randy was inducted into the CAPS Hall of Fame in 2019.

CAPS friends. We will be hosting a special fundraiser on opening day to support long-time CAPS member (Summer Crush, Cougars, DC SWAG) as she faces her battle with ovarian cancer. Wristbands will be on Field #3 at Watkins Park from 9-11, and then we will travel to the various fields.

Any support you can offer will help Jamie and her family. Thank you for your support!
