Jet-setting to Portugal and quitting my corporate coaching job all in one week! ✈️ 🎉 It's been a wild ride.

I tried quitting two years ago and got so scared and dysregulated that my physical and mental health took a huge detour. Instead of taking the leap, I chose to stay at my job and focus on healing.

It took 15 months of focusing on regulating my nervous system to feel safe enough to leave my “great job with great benefits”. With consistent work on trusting myself, allowing myself to slow down, major self compassion, and my support team, I finally felt ready to take the leap.

For the first time in my life, the possibility of what could be outweighed the fear of losing/failing. The whisper grew so loud that I just couldn’t ignore it anymore. ✨

I’m in the season of listening to my intuition, even if it does make any logical sense. 🧚🏻‍♀️

I’m in the season of saying no to what doesn’t feel good for me, so that I can make space for what does. 💃🏻

I’m in the season of trusting my choices and trusting that I am always taken care of, supported, and held. 🫶🏻

I’m in the season of walking into uncertainty with curiosity and a belly full of giggles. 🤭

I don’t know what is next for me, I don’t even have a hunch. All I know is that I am excited to find out. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It will all be revealed. ☀️

The fight response is activated when the brain perceives a threat, and it prepares the body for action to defend itself. 🥊 💥

Here are some strategies to help you release the tension and break free from FIGHT mode:

1 🤸‍♀️ Body shaking: Shake it out! Literally. Shaking your body can help release tension and reset your nervous system.

2 🏋️‍♀️ High-intensity activity: Get your heart rate up and sweat it out with some high-intensity exercise.

3 🛏️ Pillow slamming: Grab a pillow and let out some frustration! Hitting a pillow can be a cathartic way to release tension and energy.

4 🧘‍♀️ Meditation: Find a quiet space and practice some deep breathing exercises or guided meditation to promote relaxation and calmness.

5 🙏 Stillness: Sometimes the best thing you can do is simply sit still and allow yourself to fully relax. Give yourself permission to take a break and just be. Remember, taking care of your mental and physical health should always be a priority!

Have you ever noticed how certain situations can trigger a cascade of uncomfortable sensations and emotions in your body, leaving you feeling overwhelmed and stressed?

This is your nervous system at work, responding to external stimuli and preparing you for action.

But what if you could take charge of this automatic response and learn to regulate your nervous system for greater ease, clarity, and well-being?

When you start to regulate your nervous system, a whole new world of possibilities opens up. You may find that you're better able to manage stress and anxiety, allowing you to stay calm and focused even in challenging situations. You may notice that you have more energy, as your body is no longer in a constant state of fight or flight. You may also experience deeper and more restful sleep, as your nervous system learns to switch off and unwind at the end of the day.

But most importantly, regulating your nervous system can help you cultivate a sense of inner peace and resilience that stays with you no matter what life throws your way. You'll be better equipped to handle the ups and downs of daily life, and you'll have a greater capacity to connect with others and with yourself.

The dorsal vagal branch is a part of the vagus nerve that activates a "freeze" or "shutdown" response when we perceive a severe threat or when we are unable to cope with stress. Signs that you may be in the dorsal vagal response include numbness, shallow breathing, reduced heart rate and blood pressure, digestive issues, and fatigue. To promote healing and resilience, it's important to engage in activities that activate the ventral vagal response, such as deep breathing, mindfulness, movement and social connection. The #1 Way to Slow Down Time. ✨

Life can move so quickly, especially when you are nomadic and move around as often as I do. Days can blur together, months can feel like weeks, and weeks can feel like hours.

I can quickly jump from one moment to the next without stepping back to experience all I am creating.

If I allow myself to get swept away in the hustle of life, I start to notice sensations of overwhelm. I begin to feel this urgency to rush and hurry and eventually feel exhausted and burnt out.

Yet, every time I incorporate INTENTION, I can slow down time. So, what do I mean by that?

Let’s take a look at this weekend, for example. Jared and I noticed that we were starting to burn out. We desperately craved dedicated time for our relationship and time to slow down. On a whim, we booked a staycation at our favorite Vegas hotel. For weeks, we have been creating the intention of using this time to slow down.

When the day arrived, we were exhausted. We no longer wanted to get dressed up to dine out and just wanted to relax, yet we kept the intention alive. We adjusted to fit our desires while still prioritizing our intentional connection.

Instead of dressing up, Jared picked up dinner while I staged the room to intrigue my senses. Having the right vibe is crucial for my intentionality as a sensual being.

I played music and dimmed the lights. I drew a bath full of bubbles. I dropped rose petals throughout the room.

I brought my intention forward. I focused on the emotions I wanted to experience. I played out the feelings I wanted to convey. Finally, I dropped into my body. I shook off everything that didn’t serve me in the current moment, anything that didn’t align with my intention, and focused on how I wanted to show up.

The result was an incredible 20-hour romantic getaway where I showed up available to give and receive love to my total capacity. We had the best time being alone and taking it slow. We left feeling so refreshed and highly connected. Those 20 hours felt like 3 days.

It’s easy to get caught up in the demands of life. I invite you to clarify your desire and use your intention to bring it to life. ♥️

My sweet bubba. ♥️
I remember the day I picked you up. I was 17 and you were just 4 weeks old (too young to have been separated from family).

and I were so excited to take brothers home. We thought we were so cool, we named them Bubba Kush Crusher. 😂

You were tiny. I could hold you in my palm. I was so afraid of you getting crushed in your sleep, I kept you in a shoe box on my bed. All the puppy toys were bigger than you so I had to buy you a kitten toy to bring you comfort.

I was so afraid of bringing you home. I stayed at Macy’s house for three days while I figured out a way to convince my mom.

Long story short, I convinced them and you were apart of our lives for 14 years.

Bubbas, you helped me co-regulate in some of the hardest moments of my life. You were there for me in so many challenging moments.
I’m going to miss being walked to the door by you and being greeted by those sweet and often nonstop kisses.

Feeling grateful that I could be home to say goodbye and that you waited for my visit. I love you so much. 🐾
