There are a lot of people in this industry competing for your attention, and I know you have options.

I’ve never wanted to be the loudest one in the room. I’d rather be the one who quietly outworks, out-learns, and out-delivers for you — because in the end, results are what speak the loudest. My friend and teacher Kathryn Ross-Nash taught me that. ❤️

Thank you for trusting me with yours — it’s why I keep showing up to grow.

You’ve carried these compensations your whole life — they didn’t just show up overnight. The good news? It’s not your body that’s the problem, it’s your patterns. And what’s learned can be unlearned.

This workshop is built around three layers of learning that I believe are the only way to truly take something with you.💡

You have to understand it. You have to see it. You have to feel it.

When all three come together, that’s when the real magic happens. Link in bio.

New stickers just arrived. 💜

Waterproof vinyl, five logo styles, and now the hard part — picking a favorite. Which one do you like most?

I want to take a minute to tell you why this workshop exists — because it didn’t come from a textbook.

Over a span of five months, I had two separate shoulder surgeries: repairing a torn labrum, a torn bicep tendon, a distal clavicle excision, and ultimately a full AC joint reconstruction with AC and CC ligament allografts. I rehabbed through all of it — rebuilding my shoulder from the ground up. I went through it as someone who had been teaching Classical Pilates for over a decade — someone who thought she understood shoulders.

I didn’t. Not the way I do now.

Rebuilding my shoulder gave me moments of clarity that years of teaching never had. I started seeing movement differently — in my own body, in my clients, in the work itself. Smarter Shoulders is my way of passing that forward.

Built on anatomy and education, this is ultimately a movement-based exploration of how the shoulder actually functions — and how that understanding of biomechanics changes everything about how you practice and teach.

You’ll leave with a workshop packet — yours to keep and reference well beyond the day itself.

“Pull your shoulders down and back.” It’s one of the most common cues in Pilates. It’s also one of the most misunderstood — and for a lot of people, it’s quietly making things worse.

The shoulder girdle doesn’t work in isolation. It’s in constant conversation with the shoulder blade, the ribcage, and the spine. When we oversimplify that relationship into a single directional cue, we don’t fix the problem. We just compress it. I designed this Smarter Shoulders workshop to change all that.

This 4-hour Essential Workshop goes into the real architecture of the shoulder — how it’s actually designed to move, what goes wrong and why, and how Joe’s method, used correctly, gives us everything we need to fix it.

Built for Pilates instructors and committed Pilates students who want to understand the why behind the work.

Curiosity required. Perfect shoulders not.

There’s a moment in Pilates that nobody warns you about. 💡

It’s when you stop thinking about the list of exercises — and you just move.
Not because you’ve memorized the sequence, but because your body finally understands it. The stability, the articulation, the two-way stretch — even the breath — they stop being things you’re trying to do and become things you simply are.

That’s what I’m building with you. Not a checklist. Not a performance. A body that owns its own movement.

My teacher, Kathryn Ross Nash, taught me that every person carries their own thread through Joe’s method — a living, shifting system that changes with every body, every lesson, every day. My job isn’t to run you through a list of exercises. It’s to read you. To find what your body needs right now and teach you the skill sets from Joe to meet it.

When that happens, something opens up. You’re not thinking about what comes next. You’re playing. Exploring. Learning your body.

You stop performing Pilates — and start living it. That’s the goal. That’s always been the goal.

Classical by design.

The name you give your business has to be big enough to hold everything you believe about it.

Not just what you’re teaching today, but the vision you’re building toward. A name rooted in the intelligence of the method itself.

There is nothing more complex than simplicity. That’s the principle behind everything I teach - and the name needed to embody it.

“The Pilates Mind” is about the focus and intelligence this work requires. Joseph Pilates taught Contrology - the complete coordination of mind and body through conscious control. It’s not a trend or a wellness concept. It’s the method itself.

That’s what I teach. That’s what this name represents. Classical by Design.

This is The Pilates Mind

Exciting news! I’m expanding my teaching schedule to include two weekly classes at on Charlotte Street.

Starting January 14, you’ll find me teaching: • Intermediate Mat – Wednesdays at 5:30 PM • Intermediate Reformer – Saturdays at 11:00 AM

I’m thrilled to support as she grows her studio and brings classical Pilates back to more people in our community. She worked with me at RISE Authentic Pilates, and it’s been wonderful watching her build something of her own.

I’m excited to teach group classes and provide workshop opportunities while continuing all my work at The Pilates Mind. This is a chance to build community and camaraderie around classical Pilates.

If you’ve been looking for additional class times or want to experience classical Pilates in a group setting, come join us on Charlotte Street. These classes will challenge you while honoring the precision and intention that classical work demands.

In a world full of noise telling you to doubt yourself, clear communication is everything.

Here’s the thing about Pilates: your body might *feel* like it’s doing one thing, but the mirror (or your instructor) shows you something completely different. Feelings aren’t always facts.

That’s why we focus on alignment, control, and honest feedback. We learn to see clearly, communicate directly, and trust the work instead of just the sensation.

The same goes for how we show up in the world. Sometimes we need to cut through the bu****it of what we *think* is happening and get to what’s actually true. No gaslighting ourselves. No settling for vague when we need clear.

Say what you mean. Listen to what’s real. Trust the process, not just the feeling.

Speak your mind. 😎
