Who runs the Goaltimate field? FMPs! 💁‍♀️✨

Last Wednesday was our final night of Goaltimate League and the group decided to end the league with separate Womxn's and Men's games. While we can't speak for the MMPs in this post, the FMPs had a BLAST competing against one another and were also happy to celebrate Valentina's 21st birthday! We'd say it was a night of spirited play and birthday celebration! 🥏🥳

The Winter Olympics have come to a close, so now it's time to make way for Spring Olympics - Asheville Ultimate Frisbee style! 🥏🏆 (But for real, do we need to have a separate discussion of why Ultimate Frisbee is NOT an Olympic sport yet?!)

Anyway.... Spring League *cough* Olympics *cough* sign-ups are HERE! 🎉 We have Mixed, Womxn's, and Men's League! We hope to see you out there and we say... GO FOR THE GOLD! (Aka - this awesome trophy 😜)

AMS Ultimate’s Varsity team took first place in the Middle School State Championships in Raleigh on February 21st! This is the first time an Asheville Youth team has won a tournament in the Triangle. 👏 AMS Ultimate Varsity Team had 12 players that had to win 6 games in one day to get there and that's what they did!!! 🏆

Congratulations to AMS Ultimate's Varsity Team and coaches on this incredible achievement! AUC is beyond stoked for you and our Ultimate Youth Community. 🥏✨

Also, we have to shout out AMS Ultimate's Junior Varsity team that went 3-2 and broke seed, with many of them having this be their first ever tournament. Way to go, JV team!! 🏅

Last weekend, an AVL Grand Masters Team (+ friends!) showed up to La Cucaracha as "Revenge of the Smith" and walked away with the 9th Place Chumpionship trophy. 🏆 It's clear that they joined in on all the fun that La Cucaracha and Savannah Ultimate has to offer (I mean, check out their themed outfits!!) As Obi-Wan Kenobi once said, “You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the [Smith], not join them!” Congrats on this fun and unique title, Revenge of the Smith! 👏🥏

Sign up for the, "It's a Wonderful Layout" Ultimate Hat Tournament! 🎄🎅 THIS weekend, December 13th, from 11 AM - 3 PM. For a day of lots of games, snacks, music, and holiday cheer - this is the place to be!

Proceeds will benefit the local group, ROAR - Rural Organization and Resistance.

You don't want to miss this fun weekend of frisbee, friends, and a way to give back this holiday season! 🥏✨

Did anyone else blink and suddenly we're at the end of November? 😳

We've had a lot of Ultimate fun this year, and we want to highlight those exciting AUC happenings! Since we missed sharing some of those moments with you, let's get to it, shall we?! 🥏📸

Lets rewind to the end of the Summer, it's a beautiful 70° night in Asheville, and Necromancers were 'crowned' as our 2025 Mixed Summer League champions! 🏆👏 Prior to finals, they had a weather game interruption and at the league championship, they ended with a VERY close game with a 13-12 Universe win over the Minotaur's. It was a FUN finals to cheer on from the sidelines!

Weather is getting cooler and fall plans are commencing! 🍂 Make sure to include our Fall League into those plans. 🥏 We're beyond excited to offer Mixed, Womxn's, and Men's League this Fall! This league will feel like a testimony to where we are now to where we were last Fall League. 💝

All the details and signs up for each league are on our website. Last day to sign up to play is Wednesday, 8/27 at 8pm!

AUC Newsletter? Yes, please!

We've been working hard to have newsletters this year, where we update the community on what's happening with all things Ultimate in the Asheville area! We just dropped our July Newsletter on the AUC website, which shares updates on Youth Ultimate, teams that attended Masters Nationals in Colorado this July, and other exciting Ultimate-related fun. 🥏

A lot of exciting things have been happening with our Asheville Youth Ultimate Community! From more Asheville youth teams attending tournaments this year to placing higher than we have in the past at these tournaments to AUC hosting our first ever Youth Rec League, we are STOKED to see Ultimate Frisbee continue to grow for these youth athletes. Be on the lookout for all these fun updates around Asheville's Youth Ultimate! 🥏✨

Don't Fret. HoDown Showdown 2025 is ON!

We're SO happy to still be able to host 3 Divisions. Truthfully, we weren't too sure HoDown was going to be on our 2025 Bingo card, but here we are!!

In the spirit of HoDown - Let's come together to play good-spirited Ultimate Frisbee and support local AVL businesses that are picking themselves up from this 1000 year storm! We can't wait to see you in August! 😎
