We are a small group of Kendo practitioners in the mountains of North Carolina. Main class meets at the Shori-te dojo in Arden Wednesday 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
Advanced is held Friday 1:30 pm. All are welcome! Classes cost $40/month. The Asheville Kendo Club started over a decade ago at the Martial Arts Center on Merriman avenue. We are now hosted by the Shuri-te Dojo in Arden. We welcome anyone interested to come visit, watch, or join. Note, we are no longer practicing at the YMCA. The class is run by Gendo Yokote and is available for all levels. Beginner classes teach the fundamentals and prepare people to join the intermediate level class.
Our beginners classes will now begin at 7 pm alongside the main class in studio C.
New session begins this Friday June 6. Please drop by if interested.
Beginner class will be held at 6:30 tonite. Due to scheduling changes at the Ymca.
We will not be holding any classes this friday April 26.
Wishing our kendoka good luck at the 8th All Carolina Kendo Tournament!
The ymca has booked both studios tomorrow, March 1 until 6:30 pm. So beginner class will begin then.
Also, main class will end at 8:00 so we can go to dinner and welcome Gendo back from Japan!
Class cancelled for tonite January 18th. The ymca is experiencing water issues and is closed.
Beginner class (6 pm) class is cancelled this Friday Nov. 2 due to scheduling conflict with the ymca.
Main class (7 pm) will be held as usual.

There will be no class on March 30. The Reuters YMCA will be refinishing the floors that weekend. Classes will resume the following week.
