Riden High & Dirty.
This past Saturday, I took a full day float down the French Broad for some smallmouth action. It was slow at first, but as the day got warmer so did the fishing. Clarity sucked and so did the flow, but we managed to pull a dozen or so smallies from the murk. All fish were caught on a worm pattern, I have been working on, and it surely was the ticket this trip.
Get out there and Make Em Eat!!

Hit the South Hoston this past weekend and killed it. We took a low water float down river and the sulphers came off the whole way. The dry fishing was absolutely incredible. It was a eat after eat weekend.

Another beautiful Davidson river brown stuck by the rod of Dylan.
This one was caught on a submerged black ant pattern drifted through one of my favorite runs on the Davy.

Sweet Sulphur lovin at the South Holston this past week. Wade schedule was kicking and the bite was on. Right as we stepped in the river, the sulphurs began to come off. After three cast, the line went tight and it was all up hill from that. We must have caught over 50 fish. Split case PMDs and Pheasant tails were the ticket with a few CDC dries. Its only gonna get better!!

Smallies hitting the chase. A cooler front was pushing in and the sun was gone, but the float was on anyways. Midway through the trip, we switched over to an orange crawfish pattern ,of my own design, and with a slow strip we caught action. Here's the chunk of the day. Nice Job Carl

A little early, but the smallies are waking up. We floated the Upper French Broad searching for some post spawn smallmouth action and had success. It was slow but we did catch fish. All takes were on dead drifting crawfish ("crayfish" for you yanks) patterns and nothing else. Fish were holding close to the banks and the strikes were very soft. A few more weeks and its gonna be on.

Another fine Brown caught on the Davidson River. This big boy was caught on 6x tippet on a size 26 gray midge. After about 15 min, we landed and measured him at 26''. The Davidson can be technical but can pay off big. During this trip, we caught 15+ on dries and quite a few on other midges and nymphs as well. Spring is right around the corner and the fishing is killer.
