My motto is: Change your body and the mind will follow. I find that the lens through which we view our barriers to freedom and choice makes a big difference. A woman comes to my office complaining of anxiety. In the course of my intake I ask her wheth

Image-Based Movement Research Series Coming in July!
Four Sundays in July
11-12 am
Studio Zahiya, 90 ½ N. Lexington Ave. 2nd floor
Class description:
After several years of Gaga workshops, I have adapted that approach to movement inquiry into my own orientation which I call Image-Based Movement Research (IBMR). I love facilitating this one-hour imagery-guided improvisation experience inviting personal inquiry into movement potential and pleasure. The research dovetails with my doctoral thesis “Enacting Perception” (Ph.D. April 2019! Woo Hoo!). The layering of images leads participants into explorations beyond habitual improvisational solutions shifting from macro to micro awareness of patterns and possibilities. Pleasure in sensation comes from the continuous discoveries of the internal origins of movement. $5-$10 single class.

Hi friends. I'm looking into spaces and times to hold a four-class Image-based Movement series and am wondering if there would be interest if I offered these at 11am on Sundays in July. I know that is a conflict with the AMC waves (folks would be unlikely to do both) but there may be enough interest among the non-AMC devotees to warrant scheduling this series. Thoughts??

The next series of Image-based Movement Research sessions will likely be offered in January, 2019. Stay tuned!
