🏁 Race Recap – Portsmouth Raceway Park 🏁
Last night started exactly the way we wanted it to for the .
Chase came out of the gate and laid down quick time, then backed it up in Heat Race #1 by jumping out front and checking out on the field for the first couple laps.
Unfortunately, after the first caution, the driveshaft came out on the restart and ended our heat race early.
The crew went straight to work, got the car repaired, and had the ready to go again for the feature. With the heat race ending early, we had to start from the inside of Row 9 and had plenty of ground to make up.
Chase went to work.
The car had speed, and he steadily drove his way forward, making it all the way up to 6th before the big one broke loose in front of him. Cars were stacking up everywhere, and with nowhere to go, the got collected in the wreck.
Definitely a tough way to end a night that started with so much promise, but the biggest takeaway is simple — we had a fast race car.
Quick time. Checked out in the heat. Drove from deep in the field to 6th.
