Traditional Tang Soo Do International is proud to announce the promotion of Master John Trudgill to the rank of 8th Dan in the Martial Art of Tang Soo Do. Master Trudgill is the Founder and Chief Instructor of the Traditional Tang Soo Do Federation headquartered in Wales, United Kingdom.

Master Trudgill tested in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on November 19th before a testing panel of: Kwan Jang Nim Joe Goss Sr. (President, Tang Soo Do Unlimited, 9th Dan), Kwan Jang Nim Frederick Scott (President, Traditional Tang Soo Do International, 8th Dan), Kwan Jang Nim Steven Voelker (8th Dan), and Master Joe Goss Jr. (8th Dan). Master Trudgill's promotion has been certified by two Tang Soo Do organizations: Tang Soo Do Unlimited through Kwan Jang Nim Joe Goss Sr. and Traditional Tang Soo Do International through Kwan Jang Nim Frederick Scott.

Master John Trudgill's training began in Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan under Master Tong Mun Kim and Master Wynford Williams in Wales, later training with Grandmaster Chun S*k Kim and Grandmaster Richard Byrne. Master Trudgill's organization, the Traditional Tang Soo Do Federation, has one of the largest memberships in the United Kingdom and Europe and includes schools in Canada, the United States, and the Netherlands. His Treorchy school, in operation for over 33 years, is one of the largest and most successful Tang Soo Do classes in the United Kingdom, and up until recent years the only full-time school in Wales.

Master Trudgill is known for hosting the UK Open, an annual international event that consistently swells to over 1000 competitors and is the largest open Tang Soo Do competition of its kind, attended by many of the major traditional Tang Soo Do organizations. In 2019, his event was attended by Kwan Jang Nim H.C. Hwang, 9th Dan, the head of the World Moo Duk Kwan Association. Kwan Jang Nim H.C. Hwang appointed Master Trudgill to the World Moo Duk Kwan Heritage Program Task Force, working to preserve the legacy of Grandmaster Hwang, Kee, founder of the Moo Duk Kwan in Korea.

In addition and in complement with his experience in Tang Soo Do, Master Trudgill holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and Training, a BSc (Hons) Degree in Sport Coaching, MAC Senior Coach qualification, SAQ international coaching qualification, and is an internationally certified instructor.
