A little fitness education for all you folks on this fine Monday 🏋️♂️
One thing we always try to keep in mind when programming our workouts here at Creed is making sure we’re training the body the way it was designed to move - not just chasing calories burned or making a workout feel “hard”.
Whether your goal is to get stronger, lose weight, improve athletic performance, or simply move and feel better, your workouts should include all 7 of these movement patterns over the course of your training:
✅ Squat (back squat, front squat, goblet squat, etc.)
✅ Hinge (BB deadlift, trap bar deadlift, RDLs, SL RDLs, etc.)
✅ Lunge (walking lunges, Bulgarian split squats, back rack lunges, etc.)
✅ Push (BB/DB bench press, incline press, push-ups, etc.)
✅ Pull (pull-ups, chin-ups, BB/DB row, gorilla row, etc.)
✅ Carry (farmers carry, suitcase carry, sandbag carry, etc.)
✅ Rotation (MB slams, chops, Russian twists, etc.)
If you’ve been coming to Creed, you’ve probably noticed we don’t just throw random exercises together. There is purpose behind every single workout and you’ll find all of these movement patterns incorporated throughout the week’s programming. We do the thinking so all you have to do is show up!
If you don’t come to Creed, we would encourage you to take a look at your programming and ask: Is it incorporating all 7 movement patterns or is it just a bunch of random exercises? 🤔
Because training with intention always beat training at random.
