Aloha, The dancing garden has moved to Athens GA. I plan on returning to the big island but until then my dance must continue. I miss and send love to all my fellow Hawaiian dancers.
I am so excited and pleased to be teaching at Dance FX in Athens GA on Wednesdays and Thursdays to a very special group from Hope Haven. Our first class will be all about the joy of movement.

Nia is an acronym for Neuromuscular Integrative Action and is a combination of martial arts, yoga and free-form dance.
Best Friends Nia is designed to give children an opportunity to explore their own creativity while learning some of Nia's fundamental movements. Classes are nature inspired and most importantly fun.

Classes held at the YWCA at 9:30 am
6 class session starts Tuesday March 5th

Best Friends Dance H20-Best Friends Nia H20 is a children’s educational activity with yoga, dance and martial arts all in a warm water pool.
Class is designed for kids ages 1-6 and a big buddy and will be one hour long with 45 min. of dance, yoga , stories and an water obstacle course and 15 min. of free play with toys and newly learned skills.
You do not need to be a member of the YWCA to take class.
Thursday’s 9:30-10:30am
Cost $40.00 for the month of February

Nia in the water class at the YWCA pool, designed for anyone new to exercise, elderly or with arthritis. This class will offer a gentle stretch and invigorating workout using yoga, martial arts and dance all in a warm pool. The music is soothing and fun.

Water Nia Big Buddy and Me class adds all the benefits of traditional Children’s Nia classes but in the water. This is very exciting; caregivers and children have wonderful opportunity to help their child develop a love for the water while dancing, acting out yoga stories and learning martial arts. The YWCA pool is a salt-water pool and is heated! This is a first step to learning how to swim and love the water.
