Saturday’s Home Opener against the Gamecocks of Jacksonville State University did not disappoint — and it’s certainly one for the record books. Your OHIO Bobcats mustered a come-from-behind win and beat Jax State 29-27 in FOUR overtime periods, making this game the 14th straight victory on Frank Solich Field.

The Ohio University Cheer Team endured a final quarter of soaking rain that continued through the end of the game, leaving us ground bound (no stunts or tumbling) as a mandated safety precaution. It didn’t matter, because keeping the crowd excited and mentally in the game was easy. A huge shout out to Bobcat Football for a thriller of a game!

Next up, OHIO Football is on the road to South Alabama on September 19th. The next home game is September 26th against the Stonehill College Skyhawks with a 3:30 pm kickoff. See you at the game!

It’s the 2026 Home Opener on Saturday, September 12th at Peden Stadium. OHIO takes on Jacksonville State this evening at Frank Solich Field with a 6 pm kickoff.

This is Green Out Day and Band Day — and that always adds to the fun! Your cheer team will be there keeping the sidelines hot, so make sure you look for us.

We’d like to welcome our newest member of the Ohio University Cheer Team!

Lucky Hovinetz has been working with us at practices for the last couple of weeks. We’ve been integrating him into partner stunts, pyramids, and basket tosses.

Lucky (yes, that’s his name!) has done a great job working through our skill stations. He qualified for team placement through our tryout process.

Lucky is a freshman who graduated from Vermilion High School.

The next couple of weeks will involve a more intense orientation as we get the entire team game day ready for the home opener. Check us out on the sidelines on Saturday, September 12th. Peden Stadium. Frank Solich Field. Your Ohio Bobcats vs Jacksonville State. Be there!!

We’d like to welcome two new guys to the Ohio University Cheer Team!

Tanner Southern and Jase Clark have been working with us at practices for the last couple of weeks. We’ve been integrating them into partner stunts, pyramids, and basket tosses.

Both men are quick learners. They’ve done a great job and have a tremendous amount of potential. Tonight they qualified for team placement through our tryout process.

Tanner is a freshman who attended Gahanna-Lincoln High School and is majoring in Actuarial Science.

Jase is a freshman who comes to us from Pickerington North High School. Jase’s major is in Accounting.
