Q***r hike reminder!
When: Sunday, April 6@ 1pm
Location: Ben Burton Park
615 Mitchell Bridge Rd
Cost: Free!
Parking: Free! Carpooling is recommended, though, because the lot fills up on weekends.
Bathrooms: Yes, there's a bathroom up at the parking area. It's clean and has soap!
The Hike: Some of the hike is a wide path flattened by thousands of feet, and some of it is in the woods with lots of trip hazards (ROOTS!). There are some trees/limbs down we may climb over. Much of the hike follows the river so it's really pretty. There are some big rocks you can climb on, especially if you want some river views :)
There's a big field by the river where you can relax on a picnic blanket or run around or look for bugs or throw a ball or hang a hammock and cuddle somebody. Whatever you're into.
Challenge Level: It's a pretty easy hike! Climbing over the rocks is optional, and there are signs warning you to use caution and watch for loose rocks. It's only about 1.5 miles, but you can turn around anytime if you need to shorten it up.
Kids: Since it's a short hike with a bathroom and parking close by I'd say it's very kid-friendly. There's no playground, but there are always kids there.
Strollers/bikes: Nope, this is not a hike for wheels.
Dogs: Welcome, on leashes.
I (Becca) will be waiting for you with my pride flag down in the field near the river. Share widely, invite your friends, message me with questions, and see you soon!
