Over the last four years, it has been an absolute pleasure leading UGA Taido here in Athens alongside Rohan and Jaren. As the only 100% actively enrolled student-run Taido club, we’ve taken great pride in our ability to work through the numerous challenges that have been thrown our way. From the inability to find a suitable place to practice to managing the complexities of keeping a contact sport club alive throughout the pandemic, we have not let anything crush our spirit.
As I prepare to venture off to my next chapter, I am incredibly excited to announce that Patrick Flynn will be taking over as UGA Taido’s new President. Although Patrick just arrived in Athens last August, he has solidified himself as a leader among the members of our club. I believe that the club is in great hands and although the path forward may not be without hurdles, I have great confidence that Patrick will continue the momentum that we’ve built up thus far.
As UGA Taido enters this transitional period, we will be taking a brief hiatus from social media as we work through all of the steps that need to be taken to ensure that Patrick can frictionlessly start the 2021/2022 academic year. Thank you all for your continued support of UGA Taido! Ossu! - Masato Sensei

To celebrate the conclusion of UGA Taido’s fourth year of practicing, we are proud to announce our first run of official merchandise!
Designed by the incredibly talented Connor Tomatoes, this design symbolizes the unique values that the members of UGA Taido share. We had to abide by UGA’s incredibly strict rules pertaining to the usage of “UGA” but I can assure all of our students and supporters that we are still UGA Taido.
The first round of tees have already been allocated for our students and most dedicated supporters. If you’re interested in supporting the club, we will be doing another run of these shirts in July. Please DM or message Masato Sensei by June 15th to indicate your interest. As always, ossu!
