Hi all!

For about 15 years now, I've been managing the Athens Sandlot website and all related pages and its been a blast! Starting out I listed the important dates calendar and some pics. Then I created and added the forms, registration and evaluation day info, more pics, history, then added 5 summer tournament pages for all the divisions, a junior high page, rules, parent info, contact info, etc.

I created the current webpages and tournament page and sent out announcements and reminders to our 350 subscribers (197 in 2022) and to all the pages. All to have better communication to keep you better informed and to help the commisioners by answering the many of the same questions you all had. We even have a Twitter account!

Since I took over in 2007 I also created the following pages: Athens Sandlot page, the 7th/8th grade boys baseball and softball pages, the Southeastern Ohio Junior Baseball and Softball League pages (for coaches), and the Athens Softball FB page. At one time I had a FB page for each age division!

In 2022 I created a separate Athens Sandlot Tournament web page and the Athens Sandlot Tournament FB page to list our tournament dates and coaches contact information and was the main contact for questions.

Its been fun but it's like working a second and third job and unfortunately, no longer have the time to manage all this. It takes daily attention to keep it up to date properly. So these pages will be turned over to several younger people to help spread out the work.

So please note that starting in 2023 I will no longer be the contact for regular season information or tournament information. We will list those contact people when available.

Please note that the Athens Middle School holds their own registration and tryouts for 7th & 8th grade girls softball - as do the other schools. Although Athens Sandlot started a girls softball program in 2007-2008 that included jr. high girls, the school have organized their own teams. Athens Sandlot sometimes acts to organize those teams into a league to help schedule games, field time and umpires when asked. So please contract your players school for more information for your jr high player.

For 2021 - Coaches interested in bringing a team to 7th or 8th grade baseball can call or text Kris Kostival 740-590-2141 for 7th Grade and Dave Cornwell 740-707-1813 for 8th grade to sign up. Kevin (740-591-1630 for softball. Season starts April 10th.

For junior high (7th & 8th Grade) baseball team or softball teams.

Games played at 398 W. State Street, Athens, OH at the West End Park.Season roughly 1st week of April until school lets out (late May).

Organizational meeting 2/16/20 at 5:00 pm for any coaches in Southeastern Ohio who want to bring a junior high (7th & 8th Grade) baseball team or a softball team to the Southeastern Ohio Jr. Baseball (SEOJBL) or Softball (SEOJSL) League. (Athens Sandlot Coaches 8u 10u 12u meeting is 2/20/20)
