The gates open at 6pm and the show starts at 8pm. The Great Southland Stampede Rodeo will be held in the UGA Livestock Instructional Arena located at 2600 S Milledge Ave Athens, GA
Rodeo contests are divided into two categories: rough stock events that are scored by a judge (bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, and bull riding), and speed events (barrel racing, steer wrestling, breakaway

“The Great Southland Stampede Rodeo is a true testament to how an entire community can come together to support three nights of rodeo fun. To the fans who cheer on our cowboys and cowgirls, to the sponsors who provide the generous support that allows us to continue such a deep rooted tradition, we could not do this without you… and I mean that wholeheartedly. You are the lifeline of this rodeo! It’s important for you to know that I did not do this by myself. Alongside my Co-chairman Grace and I, there are 11 other committee chairmen who bring this rodeo to life.
