Went and visited my favorite fishing buddy — my oldest son — this weekend in Huntsville. We explored, got muddy, didn’t catch a thing… but hey, nobody fell in the river! Always good times and great memories. 🎣

Took my youngest son birding last weekend at the Newman Wetlands Center. He was NOT feeling that 5 a.m. alarm 😅

But once the sun cracked over the marsh and the mist started lifting? Everything changed.

Birds moving together like the sky was breathing. Tall white ones lifting slow out of the reeds. A big long-necked bird standing still at the water’s edge. Ducks splashing down. Little fast ones skimming the surface. Calls echoing through the cattails.

The marsh looks quiet until you actually stand still. Then it’s pure choreography — feeding, gliding, disappearing into the grass. Sky, water, and sunlight all stitched together by wings.

And by the end?
He loved it. 🌅🦆
