Pudding On Aires aka "Belle" is a 21 year old Anglo Arabian mare, standing at 16.1hh. Don't let her age fool you, Belle has a ton of miles left in the tank and loves her job. Belle is looking for her next rider to teach and bring up the levels. This mare lives to teach. She is a ride that seeks a very correct rider, but she is both patient and forgiving throughout the learning process. If you want to learn how to do things the right way, she's the girl for you. Belle has 3 lovely and easy to sit gaits. She is confirmed and proficient in 2nd Level work and has schooled elements of the upper levels. She is full of zest in her work and light off the aids. First horse show for me with GWIF and what an experience. What a team. I am constantly impressed by our riders at home, but now even more so at a show. I coached a total of 105 Dressage rides this week and every single student that stepped into that warm up arena came in with their game face and took direction beautifully. Even with show nerves there were no attitudes, not an ounce. They rode their horses the best they could in that moment. Many riding to a 6 to 10 point improvement on Day 2!! I walked away from the show completely inspired by them. I am so proud of every single one of you. Thank you for trusting me to be your coach.

(I wish I could have gotten ribbon photos with everyone, but alas, the insanity of horse shows)

Oh the things horses teach us. One of the hardest things for me is watching them learn patience. Not teaching. Watching. Being honest, my nature is not one of a high level of patience. What I have I had to develop. So when trying help a horse develop this, I understand the wave of emotions all too well. For Reid the other day it was learning to stand in the cross ties without someone being with him or within eye sight. He has no clue how long he is to be there. I can't explain to him that I'm not leaving him tied here forever. He has to be patient and trust. They go through the emotional waves just like us. Fear, anger, sadness, usually lots of anxiousness, sometimes panic. I used to get so agitated watching them process. Frustrated that they couldn't just stand still for 5 minutes... Until I realized it was because they were making me feel things the I was resisting. I didn't want to feel their anxiety, their fear, their questions. I didn't want to feel my own (hello mirror). It's taken me a lot of growth that took hours on my yoga mat, growing a meditation practice, along with the experiences shared by others to see that. And I'm a better advocate for my horses because of it. Speaking of, I'm eternally grateful for those that feel drawn to share. (And respect those who don't) It's a vulnerable feeling. Just as it is to work with horses. They can only communicate through feeling. So if you close yourself off to it, how can you speak?

Today marks the last day (for me, kids still have tomorrow left!) for Super Group! It has been such an honor watching these kids grow over the last 12 weeks. Their progress has been amazing to watch. Not one is remotely the same rider as when they started! They've continuously inspired me with their bravery, determination, and endless sense of humor. And I've easily learned as much from them as they have from me. You all make me a better teacher. Our sport has such a bright future with riders like these working their way up

Had a great day speaking at the GAHA Horsemanship Clinic at Talaria Farms in Newnan, GA! It was wonderful to get to share my experience of how practicing yoga has affected the way I both train and teach riding. There is such a beautiful community around the Arabian horse. Hope to see some of you on the mat ๐Ÿ˜‰
