Some rooms honor where you’ve been while opening your eyes to where we’re going next. This one did both.

Last week, I attended a wonderful Legends of Basketball gathering hosted at Microsoft’s corporate office in Atlanta. The room brought together retired NBA and WNBA players, Harlem Globetrotters, international players, and people whose lives and legacies have been shaped by the game.

We learned from LinkedIn and Microsoft—including a practical look at Microsoft Copilot and the possibilities emerging through AI. Yet the most powerful part of the day was beautifully human: the conversations, laughter, shared wisdom, and connection between generations of basketball legends.

Sharing the experience with my husband, Brown, and our son, Brown, made it especially meaningful. Basketball has been woven into our family’s story for decades, so being together in a room where legacy was honored and new possibilities were explored felt deeply personal.

The game may change. The tools may evolve. But excellence, relationships, and the wisdom we pass forward will always matter.

A few beautiful moments from a day filled with legacy, learning, family, and genuine connection. 🏀✨

What do you want now?

I’ve been asking myself this question lately—not what I wanted last year or even what I imagine I’ll want two years from now, but what I genuinely want now.

And then comes the deeper question:

Are the decisions I’m making aligned with what I say I want?

Because wanting is one thing. Deciding is another.

And sometimes the clearest evidence that we’ve actually made a decision is that something in our behavior changes.

So I’m sitting with this one myself—and passing the question to you:

What do you want now? And what decision does it require of you?

44 years married. ❤️

And I can hardly believe it.

That doesn’t even include the four years Rick and I were friends in college… or the two years we were engaged.

That is a whole lot of life together.

And what touches me most is this:

We still like each other.

We still love each other, deeply. We still laugh out loud together. We can still be silly, still talk, still enjoy being in the same room.

And we know how to cry hard together, too.

We have raised three children into adulthood.

We have celebrated beautiful moments, walked through hard seasons, grown up together in so many ways, and lived through the unimaginable heartbreak of burying our son.

Some things change you forever.

And some things teach you what love is really made of.

Our marriage has never been about perfection. It has been about becoming.

Growing.
Forgiving.
Learning.
Choosing.
Finding our way back to one another.
And allowing love to mature with us.

Rick, you were my friend before you were my husband.

And 44 years later, you are still my friend.

I honor the man you have become beside me.

And today, I honor the woman I have become beside you, too.

After all we have lived through together, here we are…

Still laughing.
Still growing.
Still choosing.
Still loving.
Still liking each other.

And that feels like one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Happy 44th anniversary to us, Rick.

There’s my love.
There’s my friend.
There’s my Rick.

And after all these years…

I’m still glad it’s you. ❤️

Have you had moments when you knew something before you could explain how you knew it.

When this happens we might notice a shift in somebody’s tone.

Their words sounded right, but something in their behavior didn’t quite match.

A business opportunity looked good on paper, but we didn’t have peace about it.

Or we walked into a room and immediately sensed that something felt different.

We usually call that “trusting our gut.”

But it’s also about perception.

It’s our ability to notice what’s not being said, recognize patterns, and pay attention to what may be happening under the surface.

Scripture doesn’t tell us to follow every feeling blindly. Because feelings can come from fear, past experiences, assumptions, or old wounds.

That’s why we have to test what we feel.

Get still.

pray.

pay attention.

Ask better questions.

And we invite the Holy Spirit to help us discern what’s true.

Sometimes that inner nudge isn’t telling us to run.

It might be telling us to slow down, look again, and stop dismissing what we’re noticing.

Discernment isn’t suspicion.

And trusting our gut doesn’t mean being impulsive.

It means honoring the signal without allowing the signal to control us.

We can trust what we perceive and still test what we feel.

Because sometimes our perception recognizes the pattern before our minds have gathered all the proof.

There are times when your body knows before your words do.

Before you can explain it, name it, or make sense of it — your body may already be sending a signal.

The Frequency of Feelings™ Quiz was created to help you pause, listen, and read what your feelings may be revealing.

Not wrong. Not cracked. Just... not yours.

Most people think thinking is having an opinion. It’s not.

Thinking isn’t reacting.
It’s listening long enough for meaning to form.

AI makes this harder — not because it’s wrong, but because it gives us language before we’ve listened.

Before you ask anyone — or anything — what to think, pause.

Notice what you’re already sensing.

That’s where thinking begins.

Healing. Voice. Freedom.
This isn’t just my story. This is every little girl who didn’t know how to scream or tell.

This is every boy who thought it was his fault. We break the cycle — together.
