This week and month are full of celebrations (Cinco de Mayo, National Small Business Week, Mother's Day, graduations, etc.)! I am especially mindful of and grateful for the mamas who run so many small businesses and raise babies. You embody the lifeblood and spirit of our communities!

As a single mama myself, I know first hand that running a small business and raising babies is full of hard work and so much joy! Your mothering and your work matters more than words or gifts can convey and I hope you feel seen and loved on this day and every day! Keep showing up and offering your purpose work to this world that needs you desperately!

If you're like most of my clients, it's time for an alignment check! Especially in the current climate, it's easy to be overstimulated, easily distracted, and out of alignment. Just like we need to check the alignment on our vehicles, I recommend a life & career alignment check at least twice per year. That means reflecting on your current priorities, values, interests, etc. and taking a reality check to assess if the current way you are living and working is in alignment with those. If you're out of alignment, it's time to get focused on what will get you closer to alignment.

Our relationships are important at work and at home. How are you being intentional with creating and maintaining your network of relationships?

I am a believer in practicing what I preach, so yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending a speed networking event in person as I network to expand my business to Horry County, SC.

It was so good to meet so many new folks today! Thanks to the staff and ambassadors of the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corp for hosting the event (and for those helpful business card notebooks)!

After almost 30 years in Atlanta, returning home and reinvesting in my roots and making new connections feels good, joyful even. Don't worry, Atlanta folks, Jaz is still there finding her way as an adult so I will still visit to work and play there too!
