On Behalf of the Adjutant General of Georgia:
The holiday season is upon us! As families gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to express my sense of gratitude and appreciation to the entire Georgia Department of Defense team for all that you do on behalf of the citizens of our state and nation. Whether you serve in uniform, support the mission as a family member, civilian employee or volunteer, it is your service and commitment that allows Americans to enjoy the blessings of Thanksgiving. While many of us will have extra time with our families over the next few days, we never forget those who are currently deployed away from their families to guarantee our way of life. The Georgia National Guard has men and women deployed around the world this Thanksgiving. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

On Behalf of the Adjutant General of Georgia:
On November 11, 2021, Americans will pause to reflect on the sacrifices borne by veterans of military service. Veterans Day began as a remembrance of the armistice that ended World War I. In the modern era, Veterans Day celebrates the service of all military veterans.

Our veterans from all services, active, guard, and reserve continue to stand watch on freedom's frontier. In the Georgia National Guard, we have deployed more than 23,000 service members since 9/11. The tireless support of our Families and employers have enabled all of us to focus on our mission. I want to thank every Soldier, Airman, Family member, our Civilian work force as well as those who employ our service members.

The culture of service and sacrifice has kept our country free for more than 245 years. The Georgia Department of Defense continues to play a vital role in the total force. Again, thank you for all that you do for our state and nation.
