It is with bittersweet hearts that we announce Whitney Phippen is embarking on her next chapter in Sunny California.
Whitney has a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and valued. Whether working with students, volunteers, families, or colleagues, she leads with kindness, patience, and genuine care. Her passion for the healing connection between horses and humans has left a lasting mark on our community, and we are deeply grateful for all she has given to Chastain Horse Park.

Over the course of 6 weeks, campers built confidence, communication skills, and responsibility while getting to know their equine partners. Coan Park’s Camp Best Friends therapeutic summer program was created to give Atlanta’s children a safe and affordable place to spend their summers, and we are so honored to have them for another year.

“The World Works Better With Us.” ☀️
July is Disability Pride Month! It commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990, after the historic “Capitol Crawl” Protest. This month celebrates disability culture, history, and community pride.
Chastain Horse Park is proud to empower individuals of all abilities through life-changing relationships with horses.🐴

Nothing encourages a safe space quite like pony pops 💕
As a part of our inaugural grief support summer camp, campers made "pony popsicles" to show gratitude to our herd and to talk about how helping others makes us feel better, too. Chastain Horse Park's Lindsey Delgado-Harris, MSW, and Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning, designed and led an incredibly fun and meaningful week-long experience for participants!

We’ve had extra security officers at the barn this week… and they wear horseshoes instead of badges! 🐴👮
Since June 22, we’ve had the honor of hosting mounted patrol units from the Atlanta Police Department (Atlanta Police Department), Memphis Police Department (Memphis Police Department), and the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office () while they work to support Atlanta’s FIFA World Cup festivities.
These dedicated horses and officers play an important role in ensuring crowd control and safety during this exciting international event.
We are proud to welcome these exceptional mounted units to our facility and grateful for their service! A special thank you to Lt. Greg Lyon (Greg Lyon), veteran Commander of the Atlanta Police Departments’ Mounted Patrol Unit for his continued partnership!🐴⚽️🌎
