Our summer Velocity Max group averaged 2.6mph on their FB. Here are a few guys that took that above and beyond!

Couple things to note:

1️⃣ This is awesome progress during the summer season (while many are playing games)
2️⃣ Progress like this during a season (summer ball) REQUIRED structure
3️⃣ All of the 25 athletes we tracked this summer had other goals in mind (NOT JUST VELOCITY)
4️⃣ ALL of our summer Velocity Max guys were on a full phased 12-week strength plan to accompany the throwing workload

Sticking to throwing programs during the season is not easy. To be clear, everyone should have one. Understanding the demands of volume, frequency, and intensity is what dictates what YOUR individual plan looks like.

Now 👉 time for the off-season ❕

***Total disclaimer: these results are not normal, guaranteed, or anything we promise. Just the product of flat out hard work.***

Individual results vary across individual athletes.

In order to build COMPLETE OFFENSIVE PLAYERS…

We have to understand there is no “one size fits all” approach.

So how do we try to approach it?

👉 Find out how guys swing the bat in their natural state. Early on when we start working with them in the off-season… We want to see them swing the bat without being over coached or queued on every single swing. What are their natural tendencies? Strengths? Weaknesses?

🗣️ Then we have to talk it through with them. Do they have a good understanding of what those tendencies are? Do they respond well to cues? Do they need less coaching? Do they need more coaching?

👨‍💻 Programming. Once we understand that, we can take a look at the things that we know 99% of players need. We program those things in with special progressions, including drills, cues, and special reps that players will learn overtime.

⚾️ Competition. Through all of this, we have to test them in competitive environments to make sure it’s translating.

The rest? That’s the customization piece.

Every player different.

How they receive information.

How they process adjustments.

What they’re capable of athletically.

How long it takes to see changes.

All of this varies from player to player. It’s our job to dive into it. Create the relationship with the player. And help them figure these things out.

Week 1️⃣ in the books 📚

Let’s keep grinding 💪

Build your as a COMPLETE. OFFENSIVE. PLAYER.

Feels. Adjustments.

Drills, mechanical cueing, and swing refinement doesn’t have to be overdone.

The approach we like to take:

What area can a hitter stand to get better?

What’s the most simple adjustment or cue we can give a hitter to improve it?

Execute that.

Some good dialogue here between dom23mcintyre Vinschofield and Nishant Sodha

Keep working.

Here was a little tuneup from 5th year Southern University Baseball RHP Bobby Spencer before the HBCU All Star game in Philly this year.

Always a good time having this guy in the building. Big thanks to Piero Premoli for catching him 💪

Excited for what the future holds for both of these dudes 👀

Should you pull the ball❓
Should you hit the ball the other way❓

I don’t have an answer. I know a few things:
🔻A “fair ball” spans from foul pole to foul pole…USE THE WHOLE FIELD.
🔻The “fence” is deepest to center field. Why? Because players hit the ball the farthest in the middle of the field. LIVE IN THE MIDDLE.
🔻Hitters are never perfectly on time…so aim for what you WANT to do…and ADJUST ACCORDINGLY.

When all else fails, we want our guys to try to hit the ball hard and DO DAMAGE.

Something to be said for putting your head down and just WORKING.

We’ve been watching these college dudes do it all summer 😎💪

Some good ole fashioned heavy weights and slamming iron for you guys here.

(Yes there’s more to the story, but we know you guys love this $&)

What do you see❓👀

Working with Spencer Norman on unlocking some additional outfield velocity.

Spencer (2028) is a legit high-level athlete — super strong, can really swing the bat, and runs a 6.5 60. Not a pitcher, but the arm strength has been lacking relative to everything else he brings to the table. We’ve made some serious strides with him in the past 24 months or so…but there’s more to the story.

Slowing the throw down like this helps us identify exactly where the disconnect is — is it a strength issue, an athleticism issue, or a case of having the tools but not being able to connect to them?

That’s the missing link we’re chasing.

In this clip, we’ve picked out a few things that need work — some we already knew about, and a couple we found once we slowed it all the way down.

Curious what you guys see. Drop it in the comments 👇

Reinforcing “GOOD TURNS” through a little angle BP.

Some solid dialogue with 2027 C Piero Premoli talking about the evolution of his swing over the past year or so.

A lot of work put in emphasizing the TURN over the HANDS.

Result?

More extra base hits.
More balls to the pull side with AUTHORITY.

Hitting is a science. It’s not a perfect one by any means.

But if you get in the lab and you experiment, you’ll come up with some winning formulas. 🧪
