BREAKING: Jayden Bailey, a 17-year-old student athlete at Lebanon High School, died after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a bone cancer, several years ago.

Bailey, a 6-foot-6 junior power forward, was diagnosed with the type of bone cancer in June 2022. His left arm was amputated as a result of the cancer in August 2025. After doctors thought he was cancer-free, the disease spread to his stomach in October 2025.

Still, he kept playing basketball and attending classes while inspiring those not only at Lebanon High, but the Tennessee high school basketball community. Bailey was honored by the Lebanon City Council days prior to his death with a proclamation of “Jayden Bailey Day.”

He was eventually forced to stop playing and going to school because his body was breaking down, his basketball coach, Jim McDowell said.

The NBA is loosing it’s luster because of sheer laziness of the actual stars……. They have taken for granted the game and fans that support the game. The dunk contest and all-star game is still an embarrassment to the league. What the NBA doesn’t understand is that everything has a cycle and nothing last forever……… When your top players are lazy and you neglect the hands that feed you, you will suffer eventually……..

COACH LEE! I’m honored to share that I’ve been named the first Hmong-American Basketball Head Coach in the Catawba County School District. I’ll be leading the Junior Varsity team at Bunker Hill High School this season. 🏀

Life has truly come full circle, as God has brought me back to where it all began… Claremont! Over a decade ago, when my wife and I first moved to North Carolina, I spent much of my time in this town and grew to love the beauty and simplicity of country life. Back then, I worked for a corporate company with a manufacturing plant here in Claremont. And where did we host our very first basketball open run? Claremont Park! 🙌

With all my heart, I know this is where God has called me to be. I’m ready to embrace every challenge and opportunity He places before me, because… I BEAR-LIEVE! 💯
