Graeme turns 1 Saturday! We cannot fathom how we’ve gotten to his 12th & final round of these pics. 😭
What are the exciting things happening right now?
🧸 He took his 1st steps this morning! We’re going on a trip soon & I’ve been sweating bullets that I’ll miss it. It happened while we were taking these photos. You can see that I caught his 1st step in the 9th picture. (My subsequent tears are in the 10th.) The look of joy on his face MELTS me. I’ll be crying for the rest of the day if you need me.
🧸 His “Teddy Graeme Turns 1” party is this weekend! We’re pulling out teddies from my childhood, bear-themed snacks, coloring sheets, & a bubble machine. 🐻🖍🧼 We can’t wait!
🧸 Graeme’s 5th tooth is coming!
🧸 He’s added the word “uh oh” to his repertoire.
🧸 Our 1 yr checkup was today with our pediatrician (that we love) & he’s coming in at a whopping lb, oz, which puts him in the th & th percentiles.
🧸 Graeme eats so much that we’re having to cook extra food for him. Before, he’d just eat off our plates. That ain’t gonna fly now! 🤣
🧸 David & I had our first night away this weekend, while Graeme stayed back with our amazing sitter. 3 cheers for Kelley! 🎉 It was bizarre to wake up without him for the 1st time in 22 months (pregnancy included).
🧸 He still adores his little ride-on blue car. Let me tell you, we’re cruising around in style. He looks like a little old man in his pickup leaning back with one hand on the steering wheel & the other resting on his thigh! 😂
🧸 His 1st Easter is this weekend. We look forward to teaching him about what Jesus accomplished on the cross in the coming years!
This week is already full of many little reminders of Graeme’s birth & the difficult events leading up to our pregnancy. Azaleas, birds chirping, & cool, spring days will always bring back thoughts of my anticipation to meet Graeme after such a long, grueling road. God is building our family in a very unique way, but He’s ultimately in control. We couldn’t be more grateful. Our son is a constant reminder of our reliance on the Lord.
Happy birthday to my baby boy, & happy parents’ day to my love, David. We’re doing the dang thing, babe. 🤍
