Today we say goodbye to Phil Hickerson, who has passed away at the age of 79. In an era when the business was built on grit, long roads, and hard-fought battles night after night, Hickerson was the kind of man who embodied what it meant to be a professional wrestler.
He wasn’t about flash—he was about toughness. He was about stepping into that ring, lacing up his boots, and giving everything he had for the fans and for the business. Whether you saw him in a packed arena or a small-town building, you knew you were watching someone real… someone who lived this sport.
To his family, his friends, and the fans who remember those glory days, we share in your loss today. Men like Phil Hickerson helped build the foundation of professional wrestling, and that kind of legacy never fades.
The bell has tolled for a true veteran of the ring.
